I set you free

14 9 3

like a shale cliff with its jagged end
sighing high above in an abrupt stand
you stay trembling perched in my
heights until
the wind with its scent of fallen leaves
has blown again, I topple you over my edge -
fly into the emptiness above with
your freed thoughts lending you flight
flapping the wings textured in
jasmine taste of the woods before

or weighed by your own individuality
you plummet in a free fall down
into the depths I have stood above
crashing like a busted plane into
the hungry tides , ripples lap into you
shivers of cold that sets free goosebumps
unto you , you are flailing around
swirling up agitated ripples ,
bobbing up and down like a paper boat
I have set you free to float away
into the crescent moon horizon ,
equally free are you to get lost
into the garden of corals and anemones
below

kite in evening sky , no need for you
to turn homeward , free are you to
set on a detour to Siberian valleys

turtle in Atlantic wakes
find yourself a new nest ,
cause I am a plastic laden beach
sure to choke your newlings
