Amor Ehicoya
Houston, Texas
2:56pm
"yooo these houses are huge" , Laor said in astonishment as we both observed the area.
We arrived to the area that our house was located and all the houses in the development were humongous. I kept looking up and down from the GPS to see exactly how close our house was.
10 minutes.
"This is mad driving though" Laor said.
"No but really... I feel like we've been driving for like 2 hours." I said.
"We damn near have! I'm not driving for the rest of the summer, I don't care."
I laughed because I knew that was a lie.
As we kept driving I observed all the houses we passed in amazement. I loved beautiful houses. All of these houses were gorgeous.
"You have reached your destination."
"yooooooo Amor!" Laor scream.
I couldn't even say anything, my jaw just dropped. The house that we stood before was the best we passed while driving - maybe the biggest.
"Nah, they gotta be lying" I said.
I watched as my parents parked and exited the van with the biggest smiles on their faces.
My dad began to direct Justin and Laor on where to park as my mom got Jason and Laya out the car.
When we were all out of the vans, our parents walked over to us and explained everything. They been planned on moving since Jason and Laya were born but they were indecisive. They let us know that my mother's company was a huge deciding factor however, deep down they already knew that they would move regardless. They told us that they didn't intend on it being a surprise reveal but when they noticed that none of us were asking about how it looked, they figured why not.
"This is dope but I like how y'all waited for me to go off to college first" Justin said.
"I swear, they would wait for my senior year to do this" Laor said.
Me and Cody laughed because we knew that they would somehow use this situation to push the agenda that our parents spoil us and not them.
"We weren't in control of the construction time" my mom shrugged.
We all hugged our parents then made our way inside the house.
I was really just taking in the fact that this was my house as I looked around it, it was surreal. Also, I wasn't use to moving. In Maryland, I was born and lived in the same house my entire life. This was such a different but exciting feeling.
