Violet had her headphones in listening to fast rock music while she hit the punching bag making it swing back and forth. The Semi final fight was this weekend and she needed to focus. Normally she would train in her garage, but she needed to get out of the house today. She woke up feeling bad and sometimes getting out of the house helps calm her down. Violet hated living there sometimes because that was the house where everything happened, leaving her to live alone.
The two sisters were curled up on the couch watching The Legend of Korra reruns. The German shepherd rested her head on the Violet's leg while Poppy's head was on her shoulder. It was Saturday and they didn't have homework so they were able to just relax for once. Their mom was in her room and dad was god knows where, so they could live without being bothered for the this moment. Poppy loved spending time with her older sister. She was her best friend and Violet loved Poppy with all her heart. People thought it was weird that they got along especially with the age gap, but it didn't matter because they did.
"Vi?"
"Yeah," Violet answered running her hand through Poppy's black hair.
"What element would you want to bend?" Poppy raised her head to look at her sister.
"Um," Violet thought about it for a moment then looked down at Poppy. "Probably fire, what about you?"
"I want to be the Avatar!" Poppy said enthusiastically. She got off the couch and started pretending to do various bending moves. "I want to be just like Korra. She's strong and funny and she can control all the elements. She's the best character!"
Violet chuckled watching her sister. She smiled and shook her head saying, "You know being the Avatar is a lot of responsibility. You think you can handle it?"
"Yeah I can handle it, Vi. Since you're older you can show me how to fire bend," Poppy sat down on her knees looking up at her sister. Lucy got up and walked over her and licked her face wanting to play with her.
"You know I can't actually fire bend. But maybe I can teach to defend yourself in a fight."
"Why would I need to defend myself?" Poppy questioned.
"Well I hope won't need to, but it might come in handy someday."
"Can I hit that big black bag in the garage?" Poppy stood up and started to bounce on feet.
"Sure, but let me teach you how." Violet paused the show and got off the couch taking Poppy's hand and lead her to the garage. "Now remember, what I going to teach you is for self defense only. Don't fight the other kids at school okay."
"Okay." Poppy said all smiley as they walked to the garage.
"Hey Williams! I've been trying to get a hold of ya. Where were you?" John demanded as he walked into the room where Violet was training.
"Avoiding you," she replied punching the bag harder.
"You can't avoid me Williams. I'm your manager and I need to tell about the fight this weekend." He crossed his arms annoyed with her.
"Yeah? What about it?" Violet huffed, stopping the bag from swinging and undoing the tape around your fingers with an annoyed look on her face.
"The fight is at 1, but I want you there by midnight to warm up and get ready. And I was going to give you some tips about Eddy Fischer, but since you're clearly in a bad mood, I'm withholding the info until you quit being rude to me."
