Love is like paper
You are the pencil
I'm the eraser
You leave words on the paper
It's a mistake
That I try to erase
But you hurt me too deep
And the markings are carved
Like when you press
A pencil too hard
The eraser is unable to do its job
And the traces can always be found
Within my heart
That still longs for you
-I can't forget you

This poem may take a while to understand but I'm actually proud that I thought of a connection between these two things.

EXPLANATION: You only erase your pencil markings when you make a mistake. Just like how you are trying to forget your ex that hurt you and made you believe he/she was the one. But when a pencil presses too hard against the paper, no matter how hard you try to erase it, there will still be evidence of its existence. A past relationship may have hurt you and caused heartbreak that will stay in your memories forever. Whether you want to forget it or not, the past has already become part of who you are.
