MANY YEARS AGO…

“King Xirxes all preparations have been made to collect the children.”

“Very well, have my brother’s wives be ready to greet them when they arrive here. Where is my brother?”

“In the gardens,” his servant bowed.

The Demon King smiled as he slowly moved off his throne. He was very old and knew his time was coming very soon. His brother was younger than him, but old as well. King Xerxes had been waiting a long time to finally see the next set of Demon Kings.

“Thank you Zen, you have been a wonderful servant to me and my family for a long time,” he smiled patting his hand on his servant’s shoulder.

“No, thank you my King.”

The King left Zen in the throne room to walk to the gardens. There he found his brother sitting on a bench. His brother always had a deep scowl on his face.

“Brother,” Xerxes called limping to him with his cane.

“Hmph Xerxes. Shouldn’t you be in bed?”

“I feel a lot better today. A lot lighter,” he said seating himself next to his brother.

Today was quite breezy. Xerxes stared at his brother and sighed.

“Takashi, I beg of you. Take care of them.”

“Xerxes, your rein over this country is ending. I’ve followed it your way and now I’m going to do it my way.”

Takashi watched as light fragments began to float off his brother. Xerxes was a Nature Jinn demon. When they die their bodies grow into nature.

“This was not my country, this was our country. Be careful. They are not your puppets. Eventually your hunger for power will kill you,” he warned getting up. He set his cane on the bench.

“Hmph, what would you know. You’re about to die anyways. They’ll rule this country the way it was meant to be. We won’t be weak, the humans will take us more seriously. Don’t you see that?”

Xerxes sighed as he felt his body fade.

“One day, you’ll understand.”

His body’s energy faded resting into the ground and after a few seconds a white rose formed out of the ground. Pathetic, Takashi thought. He walked away from the garden preparing for his sons to arrive.

“Is there really nothing we can do to keep our child just a few more years?”

“Mam, we must take him today. The King demands that they must begin training.”

Bakugo’s mother wanted to cry. His father was at work and wouldn't even have a chance to say goodbye to his child.
