I sigh as I watch them all have fun in the pool. Water. That's one of the few things I don't do. Everytime I swim or get wet, I short circuit. That's the only disadvantage of my quirk.
We're on summer break from UA, and decided to celebrate 4th of July together. But I wasn't expecting them to want to swim. So now, I'm just sitting on a chair near the pool, but far away enough so I wont get splashed unless they actually try. They kept trying to get me in, but I managed to slip away before they could.
"Kami, the water is nice. You should really get in!" Mina exclaims, propping herself up on the side of the pool. "I'm good Mina." I say, pulling on a fake smile. I really wanted to swim and have fun with them, but I can't without hurting them. "Pikachu probably can't swim." Bakugo says mockingly.
"If that's the case we could teach you. And it's not that deep!" Kirishima chimes in, smiling. I just shake my head again. "I'm good." Sero sighed and climbed out.
He walked over to me and sat down next to me. "Why'd you get out man?" Kirishima asks. Sero shrugged but looked at me and smirked. "Just felt like it." Sero then started to dry himself off. The others shrugged and continued what they were doing.
Sero leaned over and whispered, "not gonna tell them you'd fry them if you get in, or fry yourself if you got wet," in my ear. I purred slightly at the feeling of his warm breath against my ear. "Another day maybe." I mumbled. Sero leaned back and smirked at me. Him knowing all my secrets isn't fun.
Eventually everyone climbed out and started to dry off. "You should of climbed in Kami! Why didn't you? Are you scared of water?" Mina pried. "I just didn't feel like getting in." I respond, shifting because of her intense gaze.
"Stop interrogating him. It's a holiday, let him be." Jiro says as she walks towards us. The others shrug. We all start to talk about random things, that is until the thunder starts. I jumped and latched onto Seros arm. The others looked at us weirdly, as my face grew red. I let go of his arm and looked down with my hands in my lap. Dating in secret isn't easy.
"We should head in. It'll rain soon." Seros says, stretching. The others shake their head. "Its fine out here! We're all in our swimsuits exept Kami so we'll be fine! Rain never hurts anyone." Mina said, smiling. That's what they think...
"Well, I'm going inside." I say, getting up quickly and walking inside before they could say anything. Soon after they all walked into the living room. "Pikachu. Tell us why you're avoiding water!" Bakugo demanded as he walked towards me. Sero stepped in front of him.
"Calm down Bakugo!" Sero yelled, glaring at him. "Sero never gets this protective..." Kirishima mumbles, pulling Bakugo back some. Sero sighed and sat down next to me. "It's a long story..." I say quietly.
After a while the sun had gone down and the rain stopped. Everyone exept Sero and I were laughing. "You seriously short circuit when you get wet?!" Mina laughed out. I only nodded, hiding my face out of embarrassment.
"Let's just do the damn fireworks already." Bakugo said while getting up. We all followed him outside. Sero decided to make a chair out of tape using the bed of his truck. Before long we had everything set up. I stood by Sero as Bakugos dad started to light off the fireworks. Mina, Bakugo, Kirishima, and Jiro were standing around us watching.
"Kami." I hear Sero say. Once I turned around to look at him, I squeaked. I was suddenly pulled into his lap, straddling him. He leaned in close enough that I could feel his lips brush against mine as he spoke. "Better now then never." He muttered.
He pushed his lips against mine and I instantly melted into his kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist. Our lips moved in sync with one anothers. I heard the others gasp, but then something being dragged away. Once we pulled apart, I smiled.
"Happy Forth of July, Sero." I mumbled. Sero smiled and mumbled, "Happy Forth of July, Kami," against my lips. We shifted so that I was wrapped around Sero as we watched the fireworks.
