"Allison! Theo!" A tall girl called, cupping her hands around her mouth. A massive German Shepherd bolted through the hall and ran to a silver bowl that read, "Theo" across the front.
A graceful, small white she-cat padded into the kitchen, hopping to her own pink bowl that said her name; Allison. The cat began to munch on her food smoothly while the dog gulped down all his food in a few quick mouthfuls. The girl walked out of the cabin, locking the door behind her.
"We shwould gwo owtside," Allison mewed with her mouth stuffed with her food. Theo let out a low pitched grunt of confusion. He flattened his ears back and let out a tiny laugh.
"Did you say, 'We would grow outside?'" Theo asked, his content, green eyes filling with deep humor. Allison let out a squeaky snort, her icy blue eyes glimmering with affection for the massive dog. She then shook her head.
"Of course not! We are animals, not flowers! I meant, 'We should go outside'! It's a beautiful day!" Allison mewed, her face glowing with enjoyment at Theo's joke.
"Sure." Theo yawned, his jaw spreading wide. He turned around and Allison quickly grabbed some more pellets of food before Theo began to walk away.
Theo started to walk through the cat flap but that's when a large ding echoed from the cabin's wall. The ding always came when the girl, Sarah, came home through the front door.
The door swung wide open and Theo had gone only halfway outside. His rear torso stuck out from the small flap in the door. He backed up and turned to Sarah.
Sarah walked calmly over to the weirdly shaped block of wood in front of two comfy stones with weird fur. Allison walked to the cage Sarah held and sniffed it. A loud squeak came from inside.
Allison pulled her head back, a surprised look crossed her face and it twisted into curiosity. Sarah opened the cage and a young monkey popped out, swinging its arms and skipping around, jumping on the two couches and grabbing a small fuzzy pillow from a couch and tossing it at the wall.
Theo snorted and quickly walked away. Allison looked at the monkey.
"This is Tori." Sarah said. Allison sniffed Tori then reared up on her hind legs and batted Tori with her front paws. Tori screeched and howled with delight as she lightly smacked Allison. Allison let out a playful hiss and she tackled Tori, pawing the energetic monkey. Tori, surprisingly, decided to play dead and collapsed under Allison.
Allison mewed in triumph as her face glowed with pride. Sarah laughed aloud and that's what drew Theo back into the room. He snorted and sat down, looking at Allison. Allison leaped off the limp monkey and nudged Tori with her nose. Tori shot up and began to howl with happiness.
"Alright, you two." Sarah laughed, grabbing Tori and cradling her like a baby in her arms as she walked into the room where Theo and Allison usually slept. Allison leaped away from Sarah's legs and dashed to her soft bed. Theo curled up on the armchair he slept on.
Sarah put Tori on a short log that was sticking out of the wall. Tori hung with her hands and feet tied together. Well she looks comfy, Allison thought. Allison sighed and closed her eyes, listening to the soft rumble of Theo's snoring and the stifled burble of the sleeping Tori.
