Later that day, Tiegan was sitting on the bus and listening to music in her wireless headphones when she realised,  'What if some of what the teacher said this morning applied to me?' She thought about this long and hard but after a few hours she was called down for tea.
"So, Tiegan how was school?" Debra, Tiegan's mum asked.
"It was ok, we learned about depression and mental health and stuff!"
"Ooh that sounds interesting, what did you find out ?" She answered with deep interest.
"Well, we found out that anyone can be depressed and that they're not always a sad, loner that stays in theirs room all of the time and cries"
"Ooh nice was that fun then?"
Tiegan was now very bored of this so she was leaning her head on her hand on the table and was looking glum.
"Well it was ok we mainly just sat there and listened to the teacher"
"Oh well, anyway, Tim, what did you do at school?"
"Boring MATHS!!!"
" oh well, oh yeah Tiegan don't forget, you've got a doctors appointment on Friday"
"Oh yeah, ok"

Hours later , Tiegan was sat in her room, thinking ,'Even if I do have depression , what am I supposed to do about it ?'
She, of course thought of telling her parents but what scared her was completely coming out to her mother and telling her everything and why she thinks she has depression and her mother just denying it and completely not believing her. She would be too embarrassed if that happened, she would feel so stupid.
"I can't believe I'm too scared to tell my own mum I'm depressed!!"she said to herself.
'Oh I'm so stupid, why can't I just walk downstairs and tell her?' 'Why am I too scared?' 'JUST DO IT!!!Its not that hard!!!'
The thought of her mum not believing her was the worst thoughts he had ever had, she of course knew that her mum would believe her and would be very supportive. But in the back of her mind she always thought about her mum shouting at her and saying "stop being stupid! If you were depressed you would be sitting in your room all of the time and crying and you would act very angry and sad all of the time"
Tiegan of course knew that none of this was true and she knew her mum would definitely not say any of that but it still scared her into staying in her room all night.
