Dying Clouds

-

What is it about the rain

That falls from two clouds

Crashing but not into each other

Spilling droplets of water

One at a time alternating

Who loses a piece of themselves

Until all that's left is a dessert

Made from reddest of clay

As if stained by crimson

-

What is it about the rain

That shocks everyone

As if lighting bolts

Were arrows wielded by Zeus

And guided to every eye

That stared for over a second

The thunder pounding in chests

Wondering if they could evade

Electricity just to ask why the rain

Ever started in the first place

-

What is it about the rain

That evokes people to snatch it

Away like a ruthless thief

Ruining a sanctuary

With a box a matches

That happen to be waterproof

Like a growing grease fire

Burning in the idea

That water works are for the weak
