EMILIA
I WAS sat at a table that was present inside the training room that was given to me by Dumbledore. I was studying for my OWLs and this was the only place where I could be alone. Tomorrow was the first day of our OWLs and I would be lying if I said I was freaking out about them. Letting out a groan of frustration, I threw my quill down on my piece of parchment and slapped my hands over my face. I heard footsteps echo through the silent room, but I didn't remove my hands from my face to look at them. I felt their arm wrap around my shoulder, and they pulled me towards them as I felt them place a kiss on the top of my head. I left my hands fell off my face and I turned my head to see George kneeling down beside my chair with a large grin on his face. "Hey," I greeted him as I wrapped one of my arms around his neck.
He looked down at the table and what he saw made his grin drop and his face scrunch up like he smelt something bad. I shook my head at his face as I let out a soft chuckle. "Some of us have to study, George," I informed him as I wrapped another arm around his neck.
"Yeah. Studying..." he trailed off as he continued looking down at my books.
My brows frowned in confusion as I stared at the side of his face. I continued staring at him as he remained not looking at me. "What's wrong?" I asked him as I grabbed his chin which forced him to look at me.
George didn't answer from me as he avoided my gaze. "George, you can't tell what's wrong," I told him as I smiled at him.
He let out a sigh before saying; "Fred and I have decided that our futures lay outside the world of academic achievement."
His words caused my eyes to widen in shock when I realised what he is telling me. "You're leaving," I gasped in shock as I moved my hands to rest on his shoulders.
"Did you and Fred get the shop?" I asked him when I remember him and Fred discussing buying a shop in Diagon Alley with the money Harry had given them from the Triwizard Tournament to start their business.
He nodded with a large smile which made me squeal in excitement before I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him into a hug. "When you do leave?" I asked him when we pulled away from our hug.
"Tomorrow during your OWLs," he answered which caused me frown, thinking that I wouldn't be able to say goodbye to him.
George gave me a smile when he noticed my frown before placing a kiss on my lips, trying to make me smile. "Don't worry. You'll be able to say goodbye," he informed me which caused me to frown my brows in confusion.
"How?" I asked him, making his grin grow even bigger.
"Let's say that we are giving Umbridge a present before we leave," he answered with a cheeky grin.
I held my hands up in front of me as I spoke; "You know what? I don't want to know."
George let out a chuckle as he grabbed both of my hands and pulled them down back into my lap. "You will miss me?" he asked me as I felt his thumb rub circles on the back of my hand.
"Nah," I replied sarcastically with a smirk on my face.
My answer caused George to stick out his bottom lip and his eyes grow wide like a puppy dog. I wrapped my arms around his neck and placed a kiss on his pouting lips. "I will don't worry," I informed him, making his pout turn into a smile.
He reached up and tuck my hair behind my ear before resting his hand on my cheek. "I love you," his words made me bite my bottom lip to prevent me from gasping in shock.
This was the first time he was saying those three words so forgive me if I was surprised. We were silent for a few moments before I smiled at him and said; "I love you too."
My words caused him to smile back at me before pulling me into a kiss. I pulled him closer to me as I curled my fingers in his hair at the nape of his neck. I savoured this moment as I wouldn't be seeing him for over a month.
