To My Dearest 【Ereri/Riren】(Eren x Levi)

Chapter 6

Eren woke up to the daylight raining down on him from the huge windows. He groaned as a ray of sunlight hits his eye. He moves a little bit and tries to grab a pillow behind him to use as cover. But as his hand hovers, he feels something else.

He gets confused. Pillow, pillow... And continues to look for the fluffy thing on the person's face. Huh...huh...where is---

"Eren.."

Eyes shot open.

Ah. No way. Crap.

The brunette slowly turns his head, only to see the corporal. This wasn't his bed. This wasn't his room. It's corporal's!!!

He fidgeted, trying to wriggle himself away. "I-I'm sorry!!!" Even though I don't know exactly how I got here... "I'll be going n---"

Suddenly, the man gets ahold of his arm and Eren is pulled once more back to the bed. "C-corporal..."

"Let's just stay like this for a little while more..." The kid nodded and let Levi hold him in his arms. "We're together now after all. Forever. Well, not yet officially but don't worry, I've handled half of the documents already. We won't have financial problems, I made sure of that. So you really don't have to worry about any..thing..any..more......"

Ah...right...Corporal is saying so many things...and the thought of getting married...ah what should I do? Even though we're both guys---but I shouldn't think like this! He even did it on my birthday...I really am lucky. The person I love proposed to me a week ago. Uhh, this is so surreal!!!

"Corporal! I love you! I love you! I love you! Forver and ever and ever!!!"

"S-stupid! If you say more than that I'll really...jeez..nevermind..."

With that, they stayed in bed and slept in again. Levi, knowing that the next expedition is drawing near, he goes out of his way and exerts so much effort to spend time with Eren as much as possible. He knows how the brunette thinks, his mindset. He knows how that crazy kid moves, his attitudes. He knows everything about his little brat.

Once it happens, whether it's called for or not, he'll lose it. Eren will lose it. And if it goes too far, not only that but also he, himself.

I can't lose Eren. I can't let him die.

"What'd you call me for, Erwin?" Levi says while shutting the door behind him.

"Good afternoon to you, too. Tomorrow, the banquet that will be hosted for the new cadets will be assembled. We have to make them have at least a few good memories before becoming pawns." Erwin wears a smile, a sincere smile or a devilish one, no one really knows, even the Lance Corporal.

Before the raven haired man gave a response, he rests his weight on one foot and places a hand on his hip, sighing. "Basically, you want me to go shopping?"

"That is absolutely right. Spot on." The blondie remarks.

It was crazy how they could have this kind of weird conversation. Such a dark and grim way to put it but the commander puts it nicely as well since he also thinks nicely of others. In the survey corporation, people never really have much time to spend to be happy. The smallest things the commander lets the whole department do were the parties held for the soldiers; to get their minds off a few things for a while.

Levi rushed to Hanji's place and headed for the training grounds made especially by her for Eren. "Shitty glasses!", he calls out.

"Ah, that voice...corporal?" The voice came from a pit a few steps from where the captain was standing.

Levi ran to the pit and jumped down. He explained the errand he got from the commander and wanted to go with Eren. When Hanji came back, she had a good sermon from her good ol' friend.

The raven haired man told Eren to go make tea for them. As Eren made his way inside the house and to the kitchen---Levi's usually calm face turned to a scary killer aura.

"What's the deal? Eren's not supposed to have training or lab tests today."

There was a long pause before the bespectacled woman gave a response, "The expedition is almost here. And Eren's body might not be able to withstand it. After all that's happened last time..."

They both got in silence for a while when the male brunette came outside and waved to them, signalling the tea was ready. He didn't dwell on the fact both of his superiors talked about something, and obviously something he should not know.

Both of the guys walked down the path in casual clothes to avoid recognition. It's hard being humanity's strongest soldier and humanity's last hope.

The captain knew it was the brat's first time to walk through here and he knew also it was his first time to be walking together in public with him.

Levi held his hands. "Don't get all tensed up. I'm just right here."

"...Yeah," Eren blushed and hung his head.

It took them a total of three hours  to finish the whole trip. They went back to the headquarters only to be awaited by Erwin and what was left of Hanji's troops. They gave them a 'job well done' routine and let the two doinks rest for the day.

The whole escapade was tiring even for the corporal and the youngster. They decided to take the last time they'll have together before the expedition that will be on place the day after tomorrow.

They went somewhere near a forest, found a good spot for shade and slept next to each other. Eren had fallen asleep, resting his head on the raven haired man's chest. Levi's hands around the little chap. The brunette's arms around his captain's waist. Anyone seeing them would think they're adorable.

Levi couldn't sleep. He was just staring at the blue sky the whole afternoon. Thinking of plans, ways to escape Eren out of the field when the death march starts.

He's willing to throw off humanity for Eren's safety. Another obstacle was the actual kid---with his anger issues noted down. His lover's problems seemed so easy. In fact, it was much much much more complicated.
