I wanna hold your hand

Lloyds POV

I smiled brightly down at (y/n). My girlfriend. I can feel my smile growing so much my face is starting to hurt. I have a girlfriend. Maybe this was a bit fast, I have only known her a couple of days, but she's so adorable I can't help it.

"I guess this is out first date then" I say filled with excitement. Her face goes red and she looks away giving me a small nod. I laugh at little as she shifts her feet around. She glances at me giving me a fake glare, but its so adorable it has no effect. After a few moments she speaks up

"should we go then?"

"Yeah!" I jump out of my slight trance, admiring how cute my girlfriend is. I can't believe I have a girlfriend. Two days ago, I didn't even know this person and now I feel so unbelievably lucky. She gives me a shy smile and we head into the café.

As we walk the short distance I look down at her hand. My Jacket really is too big, the sleeve is completely covering her hand. I can't help being slightly disappointed and happy at the same time. I kinda want to hold her hand but I can't be too disappointed because it's my jacket she's wearing.

We enter the café and head up to the counter to order. I look up at the menu on the wall

"Hey (y/n)!" calls a cheery girl from behind the counter. "I'm guessing you want your usual?" the look she gives (y/n) tells me that she comes here often and orders the same thing.

"Hi Tash. Yes please." (y/n) responds looking slightly embarrassed but happy to see the girl.

"One hot chocolate and a toasted tea cake, coming up!" Tash says with a wink and gets to work making (y/n)s order. Y/n turns to me

"What are you getting Lloyd?" Tash stops what she doing behind the counter and looks at me with wide eyes. She walks back over to us and leans over the counter taking a close look at me.

"Y/n. Who is this?" (y/n) looks away avoiding the question.

"I'm Lloyd" I say slightly nervous from the pressure of Tash's gaze. She steps back at this and turns back to (y/n)

"Who is Lloyd (y/n)?" she says slowly with a slightly demanding tinge to her smile. (y/n) seemed to shrink back before squeaking out

"My boyfriend" I felt my cheeks heat at this. Struck by the fact that not only is she my girlfriend but I'm her boyfriend! I can't help the happiness I feel at hearing her say it. I'm her boyfriend.

Tash froze looking shocked. She looked like she had a million things she wanted to say. Instead she smiled and turned back to me.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Natasha (y/n)'s 'friend'. So, LLOYD what are you ordering?" Y/n seemed to visibly sweat drop and I got the feeling she'd be hearing about this later.

"I'll have a hot chocolate and a brownie, thanks." I hoped Natasha would make our orders quickly so we could get out of this awkward atmosphere. She handed us our drinks and we went to sit down; I choose the table furthest from the counter. I doubted we'd be left alone otherwise.

"Sorry about that. I didn't know she was working today." (y/n) said quietly. I didn't hear her I was looking at my cup. Natasha had written on the side "Hurt (y/n) and suffer the consequences!" I hadn't noticed till I put it down. The threat didn't scare me, I was a trained ninja after all, but it was enough to leave me feeling rattled.

"You okay?" Y/n had clearly noticed. I smiled up at her gripping my cup to hide the message.

"I'm great, I'm on a date with you!" I said trying to sound charming but it just came out corny like usual. I need to stop spouting lines like this; I guess Kia is rubbing off on me. (y/n) just smiled red dusting across her cheeks. Maybe the lines weren't so bad. 

We stayed in the café for a while just chatting and drinking our drinks, the food long since eaten. By the time we left the sky had turned dark and it was starting to rain. I stopped in the doorway looking out. A flash of green in my prereferral made me turn to look at (y/n). She had taken off my jacket and was holding it out to me.

"Aww but you looked so cute in it!" she gave me an exasperated look. "You should wear it. Cant have my girlfriend catching a cold."

"I have my own jacket" she pulled it out of her bag as she spoke and looked at me playfully "Can't have my boyfriend catching a cold!" Damn. She wins this round.

"fair enough." I took my jacket "I'll walk you home"

"you don't have to." One look from me and she caved. "okay." I pulled on my jacket ready to leave and a thought popped into my head. (y/n) called a goodbye to Natasha, I reached down and took her hand in mine. I watched her face light up and could see Natasha's amused expression in the corner of my eye as we stepped out into the deluge.

We ran through the streets hand in hand, trying to avoid the rain as much as possible but by the time we got the (y/n)'s building we were both soaked and she was out of breath. We stood in the foyer of her building.

"If you want, you could come up to wait out the rain?" The offer was really tempting but we'd already been moving pretty fast and while I didn't think anything would happen, I didn't trust myself enough to risk it.

"I'd better not." She looked a little disappointed "I mean, I'm already soaked so I better go change into something dry and I wouldn't want to get your apartment all wet" She laughed a little

"yeah I'm completely soaked too!" I laughed with her and turned to leave

"I'll text you later okay?"

"Yeah" she smiled "Lloyd" I turned back. She reached up on tiptoes and kissed my cheek. "bye"
