Wake Up

I wake up in the morning
And I try to think of lines.

It doesn't work all the time.
I still don't know how to push
The envelope of what I do.
So you see through the words
To come to a conclusion
Out of all of this misunderstanding
 And confusion.

To answer the question,
Who is she
And who is he
And who are we
To say life is more than the games
We've played
Since eternity went and came.

The goat and the scorpion
Play chess with their words
A million times over
But he still hasn't captured the queen.

Yet, the goat knows he won her
A long time ago.
So they play on
Knowing the music is gone.
We are he and she
Soon I'll tell the stories
Of stars and moons
Of long ago and tomorrow

And we'll laugh and cry and love
Every morning the Goddess gives us her new sun.
