The Doctor stood outside a door he hadn't entered in a long time, the nameplate that rested on the wood read Rory and Amy Williams. He hadn't entered the room since he lost the Ponds for it hurt too much. He had lost too much with them. Too many memories, great memories, wonderful adventures. He cherished them everyday, but looking back on it all, remembering... it hurt knowing it could never be the same again. Just as it did with all his lost friends, but the Ponds' wound was still very fresh, leaving two ocean sized holes in both of his hearts. The Doctor, it seemed, was destined to lose any and all of his companions.

Today was different however for it was the one-year anniversary of that day in New York. Slipping the key into the lock he slowly opened the door. His stomach ached, his hearts beating just a bit faster than they'd been before; stepping inside he looked around the room. It looked as if the Ponds hadn't left. The bed was still made, as if ready for their arrival. They still had clothes stashed inside their drawers, like they expected to return for another adventure any day now. Pictures were hung all around the room, of Amy and Rory, River, and even a few of the the Doctor himself. He found himself smiling at the sight of them, then subsequently weeping. It was all too much, but it was the anniversary of the day he'd lost them, the day the weeping angles had taken them from him. (At least it would have been if time had been passing chronologically on the TARDIS).  The Doctor hardly ever entered the rooms of his old companions, the only days he did was on their birthdays and the anniversary of the day they left.

It had always hurt to much to be in his companions, especially the Ponds' since that wound was so fresh, rooms, knowing they probably would never step foot in them ever again. Most likely he would never see any of them ever again, and that knowledge just hurt all too much. He could hardly cope with it. His friends, companions, they were his family. He loved him with all of both his hearts. It was very hard to let them go, even when he knew they'd be all right. Martha and Micky had gotten married, probably having a child of their very own soon. Donna, though she couldn't remember him for her own safety, was fine. Sarah Jane had taken to solving alien crimes all by herself now; and she even had a merry band of children by her side! Jack Harkness of course would always be fine. He couldn't properly die, at least not for thousands of years. (Something they both had in common, he supposed.) ,

Rose would be fine so long as she had that human clone of the Doctos. (That was quite the adventure...) He wasn't sure where River had gone, but he was sure she'd be getting into some mischief. Hopefully she was alright, at least he hoped that she wasn't getting into too much trouble... and Amy and Rory...he didn't like to think about it...Even so, he never forgot. He never forgot any of them, and he never would.

The Doctor loved all of them far too much to forget any of them. Grace, Ace, Jo. Sarah Jane, Jack, Rose, Donna, Martha, Clara...He remembered them all. But today he was remembering the Ponds. Just them. No one else. Not just yet. It was their special day, the Ponds. The day he had lost them to that Weeping Angel in New York.

~~ Flashback ~~

The Doctor was lying underneath the TARDIS console, working on some repairs that he had been meaning to do for a while now. "Doctor!" Amy's voice interrupted his thoughts. The Doctor pulled himself out from under the console and Amy entered the room. Her long red hair was flowing over her shoulder and her skirt and tights covering her legs. She wore a red sweater that popped against her pale complexion and orange hair.

"Yes Amy?" He asked looking at the ginger now standing above him, smiling brightly at his best friend.

"I'm bored" she declared "how long before we go anywhere?"

"All in due time Pond" He told her

She pouted a bit "well what am I supposed to do till then?"

"I don't know! It's your life" he said and he pulled himself back under the console "go chat with Rory or something, I don't care!"

"Boys and their toys" Amy muttered to herself and she walked away.

"I heard that!" The Doctor yelled back pretending to sound annoyed but really he was smiling to himself.

~~ End Flashback ~~

He missed them so very much. The Doctor broke out into a grin suddenly, getting an idea. He would go visit them! At least, he'd visit the ones he could. Jack and Sarah Jane for example. That should cheer him up, at least he'd hoped it would.
