♤You were only four years old when your mother died. That evening, as always, you held Nana's hand as she led you to the hospital. You entered the room excited to see your mother again. She lay on the comfortable bed, covered with beautiful expensive blankets. The room had a sweet fragrance instead of the antiseptic hospital smell. It was nothing less than what a queen deserved.

"Turia-sama, are you awake?" Nana said as she led you inside.

"Oh. Nana. Did you bring Y/N-chan to see me?" The weak voice replied.

"Yes, she wants to say goodnight." Nana said.

"Come here, my baby." Your mother said sitting up with that never-ending sadness on her face. You climbed onto the bed and she held you close to her chest. "My favourite thing in the whole world." She whispered.

Your mother's touch was always delicate, her body too fragile for you to hold on too tight.

"Mama? Can I sleep with you tonight?" You asked hopefully. You terribly missed sleeping next to your mother, since she had been brought to the hospital you hadn't had the chance to sleep next to her.

The woman smiled, that rare upturn of her lips that she only ever seemed to reserve for you.

"Of course you can, honey." She smiled.

"But Your Majesty, Kairo-sama said that she shouldn't-" Nana started.

Your mother frowned. "I don't care what that boy said. I am the queen and her mother. I say, Y/N-chan is sleeping here tonight."

"Very well, Turia-sama. I'll stay outside." Nana bowed and left.

Turia opened the blankets making space for you to get inside next to her.

"Will you sing for me? I wanna hear your beautiful voice." She whispered to you. It wasn't unusual for her to ask you to sing for her. She always enjoyed it immensely, and nothing made you happier back then than seeing your mother smile.

"Sunset, sunset, little bit of sunshine,
By the sea, by the sea, waiting for the future
Pretty smile, Pretty smile, the song in my heart
Heart beat, heart beat, filled with sunshine
Lot of love, lot of love, crying for the future
Happy, happy, you complete the song in my heart..."

You sang the song to her, watching the smile on her face, but for some reason, she started crying again.

"Don't cry Mama. I'll sing it better for you next time." You promised.

"No. No, you did great, I'm just sorry that you were cursed with such a weak mother. I can't even protect my only daughter..." She cried. "I'm sorry, Y/N-chan, that I can't spend more time with you."

"That's okay. When you're better, we'll go for a picnic again, and I can wear the goggles you gave me and I'll be really careful that no one sees me when I'm swimming." You said snuggling up to her. "We'll have lots of fun! We'll even bring Nana!"

The sadness didn't disappear from her face. "You know, you're my little sunshine. When my world was darkest, you brought light to me... so don't ever forget that you are the thing that I love the most in this world."
