"She was...miraculous. "

Everything about her.

How could he let her die?

How could he let the love of his life die?

"Bye, kitty!"

"Wait, M'lady!" He grabbed her hand with his own, bringing her closer to him. For just a moment, perhaps even less than that, he thought he saw her blush. She shook her head, backing up.

"I told you, Cat. I am in love-"

"-With someone else." He continued for her, looking at the ground.

She didn't love him.

"She was an amazing-" Alya broke down at the podium, leaning on Nino for support. Her words were full of tears, emotion. "She was an amazing friend! The best a girl, the best a girl, could ask for!" The girl's body went limp in her boyfriend's arms, sobbing.

"A-Adrien! I-I wanted talk school after you to!"

"She was an amazing girl, her heart always singing for others." Luka spoke with pure sadness, but keeping a straight face. Adrien watched as Luke's eyes stayed glued on the casket before him.

"Ladybug! Please!" Tears formed in the boy's eyes as he watched the girl he loved begin to take her earrings off. He was powerless, being restrained by the rope that tied him to a chair, leaving him to watch what was happening through a camera. "Ladybug! No!" He couldn't care less for the voice crack apparent in the sixteen year old's voice. He knew she couldn't hear him, no matter how loud he was.

Tears were evident in the female superhero. "You win, Hawkmoth. Just let him go! If you do that, I will give you my earrings for you to do with as you wish." The man considered, then accepted. Cat Noir screamed at the camera.

"I'm not worth it! Don't let him win!" Her voice sounded discouraged, and he knew she needed him. Ladybug removed her earrings, her face turned towards the camera, eyes shut tightly and tears falling like a waterfall. As her mask began fading off, she blindly forfeited her jewelry to the villain.

"Marinette, how to explain her." Adrien was at the podium, thinking about what to say.

"Marinette?" It made no sense, the scared girl was the one he loved. She could hardly get a sentence out around him, always falling.

"She cared about everyone, putting everyone first." No, he would not cry.

"Bye, kitty," he held her in his lap.

"NO! MARINETTE! PLEASE! Ladybug? LADYBUG!"

Earlier That Week:

"I l-like Adrien!" The small girl yelled to the unsuspecting teen. She continued with a voice so small, he had to strain to hear her. "I, I like you. No, I love you."

"I knew her as a girl who was always loyal, putting everyone before herself."

"Sure! I can take care of that for you!" Adrien overheard her saying. Only they both knew she would say what she meant during the night as Ladybug.

"I have so much to do! I shouldn't have agreed, but he's my friend. How could I say no?" She seemed to be honestly asking.

"I could always help my bugaboo, she needs only to ask." He sent her a flirtatious wink.

"She loved everyone for who they were, not what the looked like or where they came from."

"What's wrong, princess?" He asked her as Cat Noir, speaking to the small Marinette on her patio.
