More Than "Just A Hobby" (Street Racer Story)

Part 2: High School Life

Bryce wakes up the next morning and does the usual routine he has always done to prep for school. Get up, shower, get dressed, brush his teeth, pack his bag if needed, drive to the school. Same basic routine since the beginning of high school.

After Bryce repeats the routine for the day, he goes into the garage and drives the family Honda CR-V to school. As he gets opens the garage door via the control button, he notices that there's a light rain shower happening outside.

Bryce: "Ugh, another excuse for people to drive slow. It's so annoying when it rains since everyone forgets how to drive basically. It isn't different at all, they're just dumb and take this as an excuse to drive as slow as humanly possible." Bryce continues ranting on for a bit longer to himself when his phone rings. He connects his phone to the car's Bluetooth and speaks to the caller through it.

Bryce: "Hello, this is Bryce speaking."

Voice over car speaker: "Hey, it's Victoria. You go to Alpha Star High School don't you?" Bryce started getting suspicious as if something is about to go down soon.

Bryce: "Yeah why? Is there a shooting or something near it?"

Victoria: "No, nothing like that. All I can say is that someone saw a tricked out Supra heading in that direction. That have anything to do with you?"

Bryce: "Kicked his ass on the downhill last night after he chased me when I tried to go home peacefully. He shouldn't know when I get there since I'm driving the family car instead."

Victoria: "Even so, watch your back. He's got a bit of a convoy following him."

Bryce: "I'll take the advice. Take care Victoria. Watch your back."

Victoria: "I will, take care Bryce."

The call ends after they say their goodbyes and Bryce continues on his morning commute to school.

When Bryce pulls into the student parking, he sees the cars Victoria was talking about. The Supra from the previous night and 2 cars he didn't recognize. Bryce gets out of his car and trys to avoid them and just go inside the school.

Supra Driver: "Hey you! Elise Driver! We have some business to discuss." Fully knowing what's about to go down, Bryce turns around and plays the nice guy role.

Bryce: "Hey I remember you. We raced last night on Devil's Run. You okay after that crash?" Bryce was faking his empathy through his teeth.

Supra Driver: "You're the reason I crashed the damn thing. And I'm looking for a little payback is all"

Bryce: "You're the one who pushed you're god awfully tuned supra that hard, not my fault. And how will you get that payback may I ask?" Bryce prepares himself in the odd chance his suspicion of a fight is realized by this hothead Supra Driver.

The Supra Driver snaps his fingers and the 2 guys next to him start to throw punches at Bryce. Bryce dodges the first punch narrowly getting by and counters it with a left hook to the second guy's lower abdomen throw in him off balance for a second or two. The first guy ends up kicking out Bryce's left leg from under him knocking him flat on his back. The Supra Driver and the First guy go over to him and kick Bryce multiple times leaving bruises all over him then get in their cars and leave.

Bryce lays on the ground for a bit longer struggling to get up before some students nearby help him up and take him to the nurse's office. Soon after arriving Bryce passes out in one of the waiting chairs to the left of the entrance. The nurse takes one look at Bryce's injuries before calling his parents.

Nurse: "Hello is this the mother of Bryce King?"

Bryce's Mother: "Yeah, this is her. Did something happen?"
