It had to be a joke, right? But that was my voice. I glued my ear to the door.

       - Brock Chris!

       - Here!

My mind almost went blank. The teacher didn't mark me absent and the more time I spent in front of that door, the clearer my voice from the inside was. It was... talking to my deskmate. I was uneasy and lowkey intrigued. A clone?

Anyway, I decided I wasn't going to go in. The shock everyone inside would've felt wasn't something I wanted to deal with. I was probably just dreaming or something. But what if I was wrong? What if there was no me in that class? What if my ears were playing tricks on me? I didn't even see the supposed impostor.

More or less fortunately, my impulsiveness got the better of me.
