The beautiful color of the green grass complimented my long red hair slowly blending with each other. I stared at the sun setting in front of me and smiled. My mother called me from our home and I quickly got up and skipped home through the small patch of trees. But they kept getting longer. And longer. I couldn't get home!
"Mom!"
"Maddi!"
I tried running more but as I was just about to reach the line something long and tentacle like grabbed me and pulled me back. I screamed and was suddenly flipped into my back with people around me.
My body jerked from my peaceful sleep as sweat dropped from my forehead. I licked my dry lips and slipped from the bed. I brushed my small body off and stretched out. I walked to my closet just as my little brother barged into the room.
"James!" I yelled
"Hey Mads!"
"I'm gonna punch you!"
"Can you drive me to school?"
"Fine are you ready?"
"Yup! But you're not!" He laughed gesturing to my half clothed figure
"Give me a minutes I'll just throw in some jeans"
"Ok!"
At the time I was only eighteen but my birthday was in a few days. James on the other hand was ten. And a dick. Still loved him though!
I threw on my pants and grabbed my keys, not bothering to change my long pajama shirt or brush my hair. I graduated last year so I didn't really care.
"Hey sis?"
"Yea?"
"Do you think you'll will be able to come in later?"
"To school?" I asked hoping in the car and starting it.
James always sat in the front with me. He said he felt like a big kid when I let him.
"You're not in trouble are you?"
"No! I have an assembly and the teacher asked... Well you'll just have to see!"
"ok Jay jay. I'll be there at??"
"Noon!"
"Yes sir!"I said jokingly
After driving for a minute and jamming to some music we got to the school with ten minutes to spare!
"Hey if you and some of your friends wanna come over tonight it's all good!" I called as I saw his friend Isaac ,
"Really? Don't you work?!"
"Called off. Something about being granted a few vacation days because of my birthday!"
"Sweet!"
"Hey M-Dog!" Isaac yelled
"Hey eyes!"
I have him a quick high five as James jumped out of the car.
"So wanna come over tonight?"
"Um yeah! Why? Your sis off?"
"Yup!"
"I'm off all weekend!" I chuckled
"Sweet! I'll meet you guys here!" Isaac yelled
"Hey you can have two more people, kay?"
"Kay! Don't forget be here at noon!"
"Promise!"
The school opened and my brother ran back for one last hug.
"Ok go get 'em"
