"Katherine Burns? " the teacher says. "Here!" I raise my hand. She calls out a few more names.
Our teacher Mrs. Heltzel is being strangely nice and shakey. My best friend, Brooke leans over to me, "what do you think this assembly is for?" I shrug, "all the teachers and staff is acting weird today," I whisper back.
"Class line up," Mrs.Heltzel lines us up. We walk to the gym. When was the lat time we walk in lines in high school? Like wtf!
We enter the gym. Everyone is talking. In the corner I see a teacher crying. The principle is talking to a man in a suit.
"Are you seeing this?" Brooke says. I nod, "I don't think anyone cares."
"Isn't that one of the representatives that work in D.C.? " I look at the guy she points to.
"I think so," Mrs. Heltzel ushers us to sit on the bleachers.
About ten minutes later the teachers shut the gym door. The guy that was talking to the principle grabs a mike.
"I'm going to make this quick. The U.S is overweight. More and more people are being born with disabilities. We have come up with a plan. We matched one male to one female. This was based on health history, that is the most compatable. All females will be insimunated with the males sperm, to get the best results of the new generation."
Everyone was silent.
"We have chosen to do this to high school students. 150 high schools where chosen. And you lucky students where chosen," he grins like he just told us we won the lottery.
"They are making us get pregnant? What the hell?" Brooke mutters.
I hear sobs. One of the cheerwhores cries out, "you mean you're going to make us get fat!"
I scowl. Of course that's what they are worried about.
"Now, now this will also teach you all a lesson. All those teens that get pregnant in our past generations. This will teach you all the impact of having a baby. You all will grow from this. This is the baby lesson."
