Chapter 1

"Xena, are you coming to band practice?" Ashton asked stopping by my room.

I smiled. "If I can have 5 minutes to get ready." Ash nodded and smiled back before leaving. I silently thanked god for Ash. He was the best brother ever.

Except he's not really my brother, not yet anyways. I've been the Irwin's foster kid since I was 15, I turn 17 Friday. Were in the adoption process even though I'm legal next year. They say they want me to be an official Irwin . I couldn't be happier.

I left my shirt on, it was plain back, before pulling my hair into a bun. Also I was wearing black skinny jeans, and my favorite black boots. All black tends to show up a lot in my outfits.

I walked into the kitchen where Ash was having a banana.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked, his mouth full of banana.

"Yep." I said while laughing at him. The drive to Calum's, Ashton's band mate, was astonishingly boring.

Ashton's band consisted of him, and three other guys. Ashton on the drums, Calum on bass guitar, Michael playing lead guitar, and lastly Luke. Luke was the lead singer of the band, and also played guitar.

To say the least I've had a major crush on Luke since we met. I don't know if you know what it's like to have a crush on a friend of your brothers, but it sucks balls.

I walked into Cal's house and was immediately attacked with cuddles.

"Hi Michael." I said with a chuckle.

"You haven't cuddled me in forever." He complained.

"Xena!" Calum screamed running in the room, and crushing me in a hug.

"Hi Xena." Said Luke quietly, just crushing me in general.

I tried not to smile to big at him.

"Hi Luke."

He gave me an uncomfortable half grin. It was adorable, but it boggled me. Why was Luke acting so awkward?

Luke always seems so cool. He acts like a proper punk, not really caring about anything. So what's up with him today?

"I like your hair Xena."

He said quietly before speed walking to his guitar.

"Thanks?" I said confused. He's probably being sarcastic, I thought. All I've done is pulled it in a bun.

They started off with an original song, heartbreak girl. I clapped happily after every song, like always. After around four songs I was getting bored. I love them but I mean I sit through a practice at least four times a week. Just to see Luke.

I perked up when they started playing therapy by All Time Low. It's my favorite song ever. Luke locked eyes with me in the entire song. I knew he had picked it for me.

He stared at me the while he sang. When the song was over I wanted to say something to Luke. Like comment on his rad singing ability, or see if he wants to make out.

"I'm going to get pizza." Said Calum. Ashton, and an almost reluctant looking Luke followed him. Michael stayed.

"Hey Xena. I'm not really in the mood for pizza." He said plopping down beside me. Woah, when was Mikey not in a pizza mood?

"Me neither." I admitted.

His eyes lit up. "Me and you could go out and get some food." He said before shyly adding in "if you want."

"Like a date?" I asked.

"If you want it to be."

I thought for a second before nodding. I have to get over Luke at some point. He'll never like me anyways.
