One Month Later

Gemma watched Vic flit back and forth between tables and the kitchen, helping Tabby work through the lunch rush. When the small woman finally stopped for a minute, she leaned on the counter and grinned at Gemma.

"You need a refill, Gem?"

Gemma grinned and nodded, waiting until Vic had replaced the pot on the warmer before speaking. "Why are you giving Tig static about moving? He said you agreed to do it but now you're stalling."

Vic sighed and shook her head. "I only agreed to shut him up, Gemma. I had no intention of moving. My place will be just fine. It just needs some TLC."

Gemma sighed and shook her head. "Sweetheart, you can't do that with these guys. If you agree to something, that's that. They expect it to happen." She pointed a finger at the redhead across the counter from her. "I have a list of places available on my desk at the garage. Why don't you come by later and at least take a look? It won't hurt anything and it'll calm him down."

Before Vic could reply, she looked to the door and froze in shock. Gemma turned to see what she was looking at and saw an attractive man smiling from the doorway. She heard Vic curse under her breath. "Jake."

Gemma whipped out her phone even as Vic pointed a finger at her. "Don't you dare call Tig! I can handle my husband myself."

Jake walked over to the counter, giving Gemma a smile before turning to Vic. "Hey, beautiful. Got a minute to talk?"

Vic nodded before pointing to the swinging door that led to the kitchen. "Sure. In the office."

The second they were in the kitchen, Gemma pressed a button on her phone. When Jax picked up she wasted no time on pleasantries. "Get Tig to the diner. Now."

Vic shut the door behind herself and watched Jake walk over and sit behind her desk as if he belonged there. He smiled and shook his head. "Wow, babe. The years have been good to you, haven't they? I think you look better now than when we got married."

Vic sighed and ran a hand through her hair. She knew she didn't have long before Tig or possibly all of SAMCRO invaded the diner. She wasn't stupid enough to think that Gemma did as she asked. "What do you want, Jake?"

Jake shook his head. "So untrusting. What, I can't come visit my wife? Catch up?"

Vic shrugged as she walked over and sat down in a chair across from the desk. "Well, it's just a little strange seeing as how you left me for... what was her name again? Bambi?" She tilted her head at him. "How is she? Tired of your bullshit yet?"

Jake placed a hand over his heart, a wounded look on his face. "Wow, babe, that's harsh. I guess she's fine. I haven't seen her in a while."

Vic nodded. "I repeat. What do you want?"

Jake leaned his elbows on the desk and gave her that soulful look that used to melt her every time. "I want to come back, babe. I've missed you."

Fifteen minutes after Gemma called, Tig, Bobby, Chibs, and Happy were walking into the diner. Tig spotted Gemma sitting at the counter and walked over, nodding to Tabby as he passed her.

"What's up? Jax just said to get here ASAP."

Gemma nodded toward the kitchen. "Vic's back there with Jake."

Tig frowned. "The ex-husband?"

Gemma shook her head. "No, the husband. She hasn't gotten a divorce yet."

Tig cursed under his breath as Happy sighed from beside him. "What's the plan, man?"

Tig shook his head as Earl popped his head up in the order window, waving at Tig. "Vic is screaming!"

Tig took off at a run, the others right behind him, slamming the door to the office open to find Vic up against a wall and a man holding her there, yelling at her. Tig grabbed the back of Jake's shirt and flung him backward toward Happy, who caught him and slammed him against the wall with a hand around the man's throat. Tig grabbed Vic and pulled her into his arms, patting her on the back until she calmed down enough to talk to him.

"He hurt you Vic?"

She shook her head against his chest. "No, he just scared me."

Tig nodded before kissing her on top of the head and handing her off to Bobby. He walked over and got into Jake's face. "You like scaring women?"

Jake shook his head. "No, man! She just took it wrong!"

Tig nodded. "You put your hands on her?"

Jake wouldn't make eye contact as he shrugged. "She's my old lady. I can touch her if I want."

Tig nodded again before suddenly punching Jake in the stomach. "Sounds like we need to issue a restraining order, don't it Hap?"

When Happy chuckled and nodded, Jake looked at Tig. "You're not the police, dude. I don't have to do what you tell me to."

Tig chuckled as he leaned in closer. "Nah, that's where you're wrong. We're worse than the fucking police. You won't have to worry about a jail cell because if you even think about her again, I'll rip your fucking heart out. Get me?" When Jake nodded, so did Tig. "This is your one shot, man. Come around her again and it's a death sentence. Get the fuck out of here before I change my mind."

Once Happy released his hold on him, Jake ran out of the office, leaving the Sons and Vic. Happy nodded to Vic as he walked out of the office to make sure that Jake left. Bobby released her only for Tig to pull her into a hug before setting her back from him and bending down to look into her eyes.

"You see him again, you get somewhere safe and call me. Do not put yourself in a position where you're alone with him again, doll."

Vic took a deep breath and nodded. "He said he wanted to come back. When I said that I didn't want him back, he grabbed me and threw me into the wall." She shook her head. "He's never been violent before."

Tig nodded. "Yeah, well, that's his last time."
