"so if you move X over here, you'll get..."
the teacher blabs on in a monotonous tone,
boring the entirety of the class,
excluding the few students who actually care about their academics.
Kwon Jihye hastily scribble down the notes upon the whiteboard
seconds before Mr. Oh erases everything and moves on.
"alright, any questions?" Mr. Oh asks,
his voice echoing around the inattentive, silent class.
"okay then. well, i'll be-"
a hand nonchalantly rises from the back of the room
and capturing the teacher's attention.
"yes, mister Jeon?" he replies with the most disconcerting tone out there.
"why do i need to know this?" jeongguk arrogantly questions,
earning mindless giggles and unbothered eyerolls from his peers.
"well, seeing that you've absolutely flopped your last quiz
and that your GPA is currently on a downward trend,
you ought to know this if you want to get into a decent college
and not on the streets in a couple of years."
the teacher calmly retorts,
earning obnoxious "ooo"s and laughs from the rest of the class.
even Jihye smirked a bit.
that dumb hoe deserved it.
"anyways, settle down now," he calms down the class. "i'll be handing your test from last week back.
please be considerate of your scores and peers," he sternly emphasizes the last part.
Jihye nervously plays with her long, hazelnut colored hair
while eyeing the teacher anxiously,
as he makes his way up and down the aisles, passing back tests
and occasionally making comments to the students.
"Jung Hoseok, perfect score as always,"
Mr. Oh comments as he hands back a packet to the
curly, dark chocolate brown-haired boy.
of course, he does. he's a junior for fuck sakes.
"Kwon Jihye, well done."
she scrambles to flip the page and see her score.
a red "100%" circled in red caught her attention
with a badly drawn, yet comedic smiley face on the side.
Jihye leans back in her seat and lets out a sigh of relief.
look at me, a freshie acing a college-level class.
a satisfied smile spreads across her face.
she turns around to take a quick glance at the junior, Jung Hoseok.
but before she got a chance to admire his visuals, the teacher broke her train of thought:
"okay, class dismissed. have a great rest of your day."
seconds after, Hoseok is nowhere to be seen.

a/n; just to clarify, this is grade combined class. idk if other schools do this but my math class does this. basically, our school/class is divided into sections and my section happens to be the smallest.
so i'm in an honors class, and there are some people who are older or younger than me. and i'm just stupid lol.
also, the oc and jeongguk are freshmen/9th grade and hobi's a junior/11th grade. (j)hope this makes sense and you enjoy it! :)
