"So, tell me again." Y/N laughed over her cup of coffee, eyes trained on Harry who sat in front of her with his own drink. "You tried to make an apple cake but it wasn't what?"

"No, that's not what happened. I tried to get my mum to make me an apple cake." Harry emphasised the word mum, shaking his head as he took a sip of his coffee before finishing his sentence. "Made her make it three times and it was nowhere near as good as yours."

Y/N couldn't help her heart swelling then, knowing that Harry had tried to get his mum to make the cake while he was visiting for a few days. She knew that he loved the delicate sponge that was baked into a pastry case and topped with slices of apple and caramel, but she didn't know just how much he loved it. The way that Harry made eye contact while he spoke showed her just how serious he was about the sweet treat and she couldn't think of anything better to do than stand from her seat quickly to press her lips to his in a chaste kiss. Even though it was still new, kissing one another felt completely normal to them both.

It had been a week since Harry turned up at Y/N's flat while drunk and they professed their feelings for one another, yet nothing had been said between them that made the relationship official. They talked over the phone every day that he was gone, stating how much they missed one another. They texted nonstop too and the first place Harry went when he got home was Scout's flat where she had been more than happy to see him, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her lips to his.

"You know you're the sweetest, right?" She smiled at him, watching as his cheeks grew a shade darker and his lips were pulled into his mouth in a grin. He tried to hide behind his mug of coffee but it didn't work, "If you want an apple cake, I'll make you an apple cake. Just tell me when."

"I'll always want one."

The truth was, there was one in the back ready for them to eat when she closed the shop that day. Nancy had been letting her close up more and Y/N loved doing it because it meant that she got to have the place to herself for a little while, and she got to see Harry for longer. But sitting there and seeing the way Harry's eyes physically lit up when she mentioned making him the cake, she couldn't wait. So, she stood up from her seat and headed to the kitchen, leaving a bewildered Harry watching her.

No one else was in the shop as it was due to close soon after, so Y/N could easily manoeuvre her way around without getting in anybody's way. Harry couldn't keep his eyes off of her. She wore a pair of burnt orange, tapered trousers paired with a loose-fitting white shirt and patent black shoes. Her lips were cherry red and kept transferring colour to Harry's which left his normally raspberry lips that bit darker and more kissable. Poppy and Dot had invited her for a meal to celebrate Poppy's impregnation and so she had decided to dress up for work rather than go home to get ready. Harry's eyes shifted from the back of her head where her hair sat in a low ponytail, to her back that was slightly showing through the thin material of her shirt, to the swell of her bum that was at a perfect height for him. He cocked his head to the side and subconsciously licked his lips.

When Y/N walked back out of the kitchen with two plates of his new found favourite dessert, Harry's eyes lit up, the dim lights from the exposed vintage bulbs above them making his green eyes appear even lighter and more beautiful if that were even possible. He watched as she brought the cake toward him with the biggest smile on her face.

"Brought you one today, too though. There are these two slices here and then the rest of the cake in the kitchen for you to take home with you later." Harry smiled as he took the plate of cake from her, his eyes lighting up when he saw that she'd brought them some cinnamon too. "Was meant to leave this in the back until you left, but seeing how sad you were that your mum couldn't get it quite right pained me so I decided to treat you early."
