past
Carter silently walked down the stairs afraid of waking up her parents. It was 10 o' clock at night and she was getting hungry. She was only hungry for begin a six year old. She was in the mood for sweets; being spoiled with sweets from her dad does have it's cons.
"Come on Carter, there is nothing hiding in the darkness to eat you'' Carter thought to herself as she placed her small hand on the wall in search of the light switch. When she finally found it she would've screamed in joy, if it hadn't been for the creaking of the steps behind her.
"Carter? What are you doing still up, it's way past your bed time young lady." Her father scolded, dramatically placing his hand on his hips. "Well since I'm up, let's eat some chocolate I hid from your mother."
Carter giggled to herself following shortly behind her father into the kitchen. She watched as her father reached into the pantry in the far back and pulled out a little baggy full of chunks of dark chocolate.
The two of them sat at the dining room table just joking around with eachother when they heard Weston, her little brother, scream for his mother. Carter stared at her dad before running as fast as she could with her short height. She ran to her brother's room, with her dad following behind her.
"West?" She called, opening the door. The only thing she saw was a tall shadow standing in front of her brothers bed.
"Who the hell are you?!" Her father screamed, just as Carter's mother ran into the room.
"Get away from my son!" She screamed, running over to the shadow, only to be flung by an invisible force and crashed into the wall. The creature flicked his hand again and the same thing happened to her father. Carter stayed silent, glaring at the shadow.
"Carter Reid, my have you grown up." The creature said, slowly walking closer. "How are you going to win my dear? You can't kill me, hell you don't even have a clue of what I am, do you?" It whispered, trailing a finger from her neck to her cheek.
"Carter!" Her brother screamed, before the creature squeezed its hand into a fist and her brother was instantly silenced, blood flowing out of his mouth and down his clothes. It didn't take Carter a second to figure out that her little brother was dead.
"WESTON!" Her parents screamed at the same time. While the creature was distracted with Carter's parents, she took it upon herself to run to the other side of the room, away from the creature. Carter's eyes widened when she saw the creature stab its fist into her mothers stomach, pulling out with her intestines in its hand.
"MARILYN!" Carter's father yelled.
"William Reid, you tried to keep your family safe, but how long did you expect to stay hidden for? You knew we would find you eventually." The creature said, licking the blood off its fingers. Carter looked at her father and watched as he mouthed 'I love you' before the creature slashed his throat. It laughed as your family lie dead on the floor, surrounded by their blood.
"Now Cart-" The creature was cut off when an old man ran into the room with a pint of holy water. Carter fell to the floor and pushed herself backwards until her back made contact with the wall. The old man covered the creature in holy water and started screaming words in a foreign language, before black smoke erupted from the body and flew away.
"Carter, the bad man is gone now, come with me, I promise to take care of you"
Present
It's been 21 years since the whole demon issue happened with Carter. She grew up with Bobby Singer, the old man who rescued her from her home. He was the one who informed her of all the creature lurking in the dark, and of course she was taught how to kill them. Bobby was impressed at how good she was in combat, and he knew no one would want to anger her, expecially if she had a weapon in her hand.
She was an expert at everything she did. With the determination she had to get revenge on her family, nothing could stop her. She acted tough around everybody, it was rare for Bobby or even the Winchesters to see her soft side. She always smiled around them, but they could all see it was fake.
Carter was holding a secret from the three of them, and she made sure that Castiel would keep it between them, seeing as he was an angel and knew almost everything about her.
Sam was Carters little brother and Dean was her punching bag. Being the oldest, she always teased the brothers, whether it be by stealing the Impala keys or Sams laptop, or simple just walking around in a sports bra and shorts, teasing was her expertise. She was never one for love, one night stands were her kind of thing.
"Bobby, do you remember where I put my keys?" Carter yelled from the kitchen, searching for her keys. She needed to go for a food run, since the Winchesters were about an hour away and she wanted to cook everyone a good meal.
"Did you leave them in the utensil drawer like you always do?" Bobby answered, walking into the kitchen with his arms cross.
She opened the drawer and of course they were right there.
"Girl, you better keep your stuff hidden in your room if you don't want the idjits to be able to find them. You know how much they wish to tease you back from all the past years"
Carter laughed and turned towards the old man.
"Bobby, even if they were to try anything, you know nothing they can do with bother me. I've witnessed just about everything." She smiled, patting his shoulder as she passed by him.
"Be careful, the last thing I need right now is to have you end up in the hospital with the way you drive." He muttered, turning back and going into the living room, most likely to drink more of his whiskety.
Carter shook her head as she ran outside and into her car.
"Don't you worry old man, I'm not goin anywhere until I've finished my deed."
