Everything is fine now. Ask me again in a few minutes and I'm sure I am going to feel differently.

It all started so innocently, gentle touches, soft kisses, shy glances from across the way. That last one was my signature move. What else would you expect from a shy 23-year-old content translator? My life is practically the definition of boredom. Most days I doubt I say more than 50 words.

I think I've always been this way. It's slightly comical though. In elementary school, all of my teachers told my mom I had AD/HD. She took me to the doctor, went the whole nine. I was on meds for years until I refused to take anymore. AD/HD and translating are an interesting combination. If I am being honest, some days it perfectly meshes, other days I'll be in the middle of typing up a report then find myself googling recipes for Butter chicken.

My bosses roll with the punches though. I think I am one of their more consistent translators. I hardly ever miss a day. I make it a point to do well so I do not have to speak with them, and they really do their best to not venture to my corner of the office. I don't mind. I think that is pretty obvious, I prefer it.

"Carter," of course, as soon as I say they never come back here, they would come back here. I look up from my computer. I really need to get this work done.

"Yes, Sir?" Growing up in the south taught me a lot, good tacos and better manner.

"I just wanted to introduce you to the new Director of Content." I look to Matthew's right and holy shit. She's like a Greek goddess, but thick and better and oh my god. Her eyes were so pale and green and she was so pale. Her lips-

"Carter?" He waves a hand in front of my face.

"Sorry, Matthew, I must have spaced out a bit." If I was any lighter you would be able to see me blush.

"Okay, anyway. Her name is-"

"Actually, Matthew I would like to introduce myself if that is alright with you."

"No problem, I'll be in my office. When you're done come and see me." He says walking off. At least that was over.

"As Mr. Williams was saying, I am Johanna Charles. I am the new Director of Content. Your name is Carter correct?"

"Yes Ma'am," I replied doing my best not to trip on my words.

"Do you have a last name, Carter?" She asked, her smooth voice encompassing my entirety.

"Uhm, Yes. Yes Ma'am, I do. Uhm, Carter Grace Johnson. That's my full name." I really want to say I nailed it, but god knows this is a mess.

"Okay, Ms. Johnson. Nice to meet you," She extends her had. I stared at it a while like an idiot before realizing what to do with it. Shake it you idiot, and stand up!

Listening to the smarter person inhabiting my body at the time I quickly stand, My chair roll back quickly and my coffee tumbler nearly tips over. Moments like this I'm glad I invested in it. I quickly took my hand back and stand the mug back up. Smiling back at her shyly, I rub my sweaty hands on my jeans. She looks down at the motion and squints.

"Are you okay, Ms. Johnson?" She smells so good and her hair is so pretty. "Ms. Johnson."

"Yes, Ma'am?"

"Are you okay?" She asks. A small smile on her lips, and what beautiful lips they are.

"Yes Ma'am, just a bit out of it today, nice to meet you." I quickly retrieve my chair from where it rolled and slide back to my desk. I practically shrink into my computer.
