Aziraphale yawned as he woke up from his confrontation with Gabriel. He couldn't remember much of anything else. He gasped as he looked around the bookshop he was in. "Oh...wow..." he breathed, noticing how beautiful all the books were.
There was a harried knocking on the door. "Aziraphale?" a voice called, clearly very worried.Aziraphale jumped at someone calling his name, answering the door and gasping. "Get back, foul one!" he scolded, trying to reach for his sword. "Oh...it's gone...of course." He sighed.
Crowley tilted his head. "Okay, angel. Jokes over. Are you okay?" Something was up...
"Of course not! I have a demon on my doorstep with no holy water nor sword."
"Aziraphale, this isn't funny," Crowley said, frowning.
"Who's laughing? No wonder they hate me up there..." Aziraphale sighed. "What do you want, demon?"
"I wanted to check on my boyfriend," Crowley said. "Stop playing around."
"Boyfriend? Angels don't date, demon. And they certainly do not date demons...do you know how furious heaven would be with me?"
"Wha...we've been dating for two years, Aziraphale!"
"No, we haven't!" Aziraphale scolded, frowning in frustration. "I don't even know you or where I am!"
"I...I'm Crowley...Angel..." The demon's voice was clearly disheartened and sad.
"And you clearly know who I am somehow..."
"We've been dating for two years! That's how I know who you are! We've been friends since the Beginning!"
"I don't know you!" Aziraphale insisted again, whimpering softly as he held his head in pain.
Crowley's hands gently grabbed the angel's upper arms. The touch wasn't hostile in the slightest. It was an almost worried touch. "Angel...what's going on?"
"I...I don't know..." Aziraphale groaned, head aching. "I'm going to lay down," he said, pulling away. "I suggest you leave before the angels come by."
"You've never had a problem with my being here when angels come by..."
"I don't know who you are!" Aziraphale groaned. "Please...just leave me alone..."
Crowley frowned, turning and opening his wings before leaving.
Aziraphale moved to sit down, head spinning.
The demon had truly seemed to have known him...
Aziraphale frowned, closing his eyes and trying to rest.
Crowley returned home, taking a seat in his armchair as Nephy hopped up onto his lap.
Nephy purred loudly before hissing at the door.
Crowley looked towards the door, stroking along the cat's back to soothe him.
Nephy hissed louder, yowling as there was a knock on the door.
Crowley picked up the cat, holding Nephy gently to his chest as he walked to the door.
Gabriel stood there with a smile.
Crowley looked at him for a moment before saying, "You're scaring the cat," and closing the door.
Crowley looked down at the cat in his arms. "What are we gonna do, Nephy?"
Nephy mewed sadly, missing his other dad.
"I know, I know," Crowley said softly, stroking Nephy's fur. "I mean, there's one idea but if it fails..."
