The time is unknown, the apocalypse is about 2 years in, this is where the story starts off.
Bolivia, Monte Puncu Province.
David makes his way into his bunker, he has been running, has retired his life of being a mercenary. He is 48 almost 50 and growing old and withered, although he does miss the thrill of combat.
About a click out is anyone's nightmare, the first Legion of the Red Spade squad, they are elite and for right now unorganized and growing. That's why they are looking for him.
*Motorcycle engine stops running*
David finishes working on his bike, his background in the Marines and MARSOC. He used to work on vehicles, though he wasn't an engineer. He was actually a sniper, his longest shot with an unconfirmed kill was 2 miles and had to take out an Al Qaida HVT.David was finished working on his bike when he noticed a man walking up the road, he pulled his rifle up and looked at him through the scope. With his AR-15 in hand, he took a shot. A warning shot went whizzing by the strangers head, he stopped dead in his tracks. The man looked at Dave and put his hands up, surrendering, he got down on his knees. David walked up cautiously this time with his sidearm drawn, one bullet chambered, his last bullet for his 1911 MARSOC, .45 ACP is what he went looking for in the past and only found 5.56, he never checked the bandit camp he passed on his way home.
The stranger looked crazy, his hair messy, and clothes tattered, he was covered in what looked like red paint but could be blood, this made David more suspicious. David now 3 feet in front of the man saw that the red was only paint. He looked injured, so David took him inside and down to the bunker, he gave the man medical attention and tended to his wounds, this man had been shot and on his back was a spade carved into his skin. It was bizarre. David started preparing to leave seeing as the man was now unconscious, he used chloroform to knock him out for the medical stuff, so the stranger was going to be out for a little bit. David loaded up his bike and drove off into town.
He began clearing out the bandit camp, he started with the gas station, he cleared that no problem, there was only 3 lightly armed enemies, all holding Mac-11's. He moved up to the second part of the base, the second part was a network station, he thought than that he could pick up a transmission for something. So, he took out the surrounding guards and moved to the door, he placed a breaching charge. Dave stepped away from the door and readied his rifle, he then blew the charge and moved in, he goes through the front door, 2 enemies still stunned from the blast are quickly dealt with by 2 shots from his AR, he moves onward and is quickly lit up by a minigun set up inside the building, that and AK fire. He takes one shot around the corner, headshot on the minigunner. He hastily moves to the next cover, he gets hit once in the chest but his armor stops the bullet. He waits for the enemies to run out of ammo.
*click-click-click*
Dave pops up, the rest of the ammo gets emptied into the 6 guys still up, the last guy severely wounded tries getting up and running. He falls flat on his face. Dave then picks him up and begins to beat the hell out of him, he demands to know where their ammo cache is. The man points over to his left, there's a stairwell, he takes the man and goes up the stairs, the man then points towards a room. David shoots him and walks over to the ammo cache, he finds the
.45 ACP and and some 5.56, just what he was looking for. On the other side of the mountain, gunshots ring out, loud shots from high caliber rounds echo throughout the valley, David hears them and just wonders what in the world is going on.David heads back to his house on his bike. After he goes around a bend in the road, he sees some people near the house, loaded with weapons. This could only go 2 ways, the good, or the bad.
