"Ugh, How much farther do we have to go Lawrence im getting tired." Your crush, Jay, complained you swore ever since he started following Scarlett he's been crankier.
"Not much further we just need to get to a safe place to rest for the night." Lawrence replied to Jay's whining. You adjusted the map so the whole patrol, which contained Jay, Hailey, Ethan, Lawrence, Harry, and you, could see where the black X was marked in a fading ink.
"Hey on the bright side the sooner we stop dragging our feet the sooner we get there which means the sooner we can rest!" Harry remarked in a cheery voice as usual.
Jay just sighed and trudged on to your right watching you as you adjusted the map and made small notes in a tiny pocket notebook you kept on you mainly to mark down places where you could find supplies like food or weapons.
After walking at least 5 more meters Ethan spotted an apartment building which turned out to be a decent place to rest for the night after Lawrence inspected it top to bottom for a full 20 minutes.
After settling who would be sleeping with who in what rooms and where the group meet for breakfast everyone went to sleep.
You just so happened to be paired with Jay in a one bedroom apartment. Hailey was paired with Ethan also in a one bedroom apartment but with a smaller bed. Lastly Lawrence and Harry partnered up and chose a one bedroom apartment but it was the only one on your floor with a pullout couch that was decent.
After both of you being flustered at the thought of sharing a room, Jay more so. You and Jay opened the door and looked around the place.
It was large with lots of abandoned furniture and plenty of room to move and defend yourself if any zombies wandered in which you were happy about. You and Jay agreed to move some of the more useless things to one of the spare rooms so you knew what you had to work with.
Just a half hour before rooms and roommates were picked Lawrence had said that we would remain for a few days to scout the area and gather supplies before heading back and Jay being Jay he decided to start to settle in as if you were staying for months.
Once both of you were satisfied with the living room you moved to the bedroom were you and Jay were happily greeted by a king size bed and a long body pillow along with other pillows that were piled inside the closet. After hunting around some more the two of you agreed to separate the bed in half with the body pillow so you both could sleep without rolling onto one another.
After replacing the pillows in the closet with your bags you and Jay both flopped down and sighed after slipping off your shoes and burying yourselves under the blankets falling asleep rather quickly in the large, comfy, and probably expensive bed in your clothes without a second thought.
