The chair was stiff. Your brain was overworking, and yet doing nothing. The lights were flourecently bright. Your eyes felt dry and tired.  Every part of you was exhausted, but you had to stay awake- quite frankly, you couldn't fall asleep even if you tried. Your anxiety took care of that. It was hard to keep your eyes open against the horrifically bright lights; it pretty much felt as if they had dried up.

'This is nothing compared to what he must be feeling' You remind yourself, sitting up in the plastic chair once more and rubbing your face. How long had it been? It felt like decades, sitting there, staring at the same door and walls and floors. There was a clock ticking nearby, slowly driving you insane with you sound and the fact that time just wouldn't pass. It had just ticked over two hours since arriving, but it felt like much more.

"Ma'am, I'm aware that you wish to wait, but you have to do that in the waiting area. It's against regulation to allow you to sit outside of the patient rooms during the night." A young male nurse, not much younger than Taehyung, approached you for the hundreth time that night, obviously tired.

"I-I know. But, if I leave then he might think I've abandoned him." You stutter, your throat sore and  your mouth dry. The boy nods slowly, before glancing towards the ICU room in which Taehyung had been placed.

"I can give him a message?" The nurse says understanding, to which you nod and gulp thickly. He quickly pulls a pad and pen from his work uniform, before clicking the pen and smiling.

"Okay, um- I love you, Tae, and I haven't left. I won't leave, because you didn't leave me." You mumble slowly, feeling a blush of embarrassment creep up your cheeks as the nurse notes down your wish.

"It sounds like he means a lot to you." He states softly, tucking the pad and pen back into his clothes. You crack a weak smile and nod, before slowly licking your lips.

"Yeah.. he helped me out of something that I wouldn't have gotten out of, otherwise." You admit slowly, the boy nodding as you speak.

"I'll make sure your knight-in-shining-armour receives your message." The nurse says politely, attempting to cheer you up. You laugh half-heartedly, before forcing yourself to your feet and looking towards his room one last time, as the boy walks away.

You take a slow step forward, and your head instantly begins to spin. Gripping onto the chair handle for dear life, you use it as a guide to eventually reach the waiting room, which was thankfully empty. The first chair nearest the door was practically calling for you, as you fall into it and sigh, your head still spinning. It wasn't much more comfortable than the plastic chairs, but was just enough to cause you to finally fall asleep.

"Miss Y/N, I assume?" A faint voice calls out to you, bringing you back to consciousness and back into the bright lights of the hospital. You yawn and stretch, before the realization that someone was speaking to you hits you.

"Oh, yes. Sorry, that's me." You grumble quickly, forcing yourself to stand and attempting to fix yourself up, as if you hadn't just slept on the hospital chairs.

"Mr Kim is awake. He wants to see you." The woman smiles softly, being a lot more understanding of the situation than other nurses would be. Your heart leaps and a small burst of laughter rises in your throat, before you dash past the nurse and straight to Taehyung's room. When you enter, you freeze as the bed before you is totally empty.

"We moved him to a different room, don't worry." The nurse says from behind you, making you jump out of your skin and cling onto the doorframe. "I'm sorry, dear. I didn't mean to frighten you." She apologizes quickly.

"It's not your fault. I'm just a little jumpy. Where is he?" You grumble quickly, to which she nods and starts down the hall at a quick pace. You follow her intently, before she stops in front of a room and you instantly enter.

"Y/N." Taehyung instantly sighs, relieved that you were still here. Your eyes well up as you dash to his bed, grabbing his hand as soon as you could reach.

"Are you okay? What did they do?" You ask quickly, while Taehyung just studies your face, silently. "What? What is it, Tae-" You're cut off midsentence as he leans forward and gently kisses your lips, before smiling and shaking his head.

"You tall to much." He says softly, his voice deep and hoarse from sleep. You laugh softly, a tear rolling down your cheek slowly as you look at him.

"I though I would lose you. I-I don't think I could. Not after everything you've done." You speak quickly, as Taehyung brings his hand slowly up to wipe the tears rolling down your face.

"Hey, don't cry. I'm here, aren't I? Just a little injured. It's more of a... a boo-boo than a serious wound." Taehyung smiles, and you instantly frown with a small smile.

"A boo-boo? You were shot, Tae." You frown slightly, while he returns a smile and shakes his head.

"A boo-boo sounds less permanent." He shrugs softly, wincing ever so slightly as he did so, before he smiles once more.

"But, surviving a gun shot sounds cool." You return, while you place your hand over his, now snuggling into his hand on your cheek. He hums softly, before nodding and smiling brightly.

"I suppose that it does kind of make me a hero. Our kids will never hear the end of the story of me, Kim Taehyung, who was shot and lived!" Taehyung smiles excitedly, getting carried away in his own thoughts.

"Who said anything about children?" You laugh quickly, a small frown hinting at your brows. Taehyung raises an eyebrow at you, before a look of lust crosses over his eyes.

"We both know that it's inevitable. I just can't resist you." Taehyung whispers, before wiggling his eyebrows playfully, while you roll your eyes.

"On the brink of death, and you can still think about that sort of stuff. Wow, I admire you." You smile down on him, before he pulls you closer with the hand on your cheek, and gently kisses you once more.

"Just you wait until I'm out of here." He smirks, before the door to his room opens, not giving you time to respond.

"We need to run more blood tests and scans, so if you could kindly leave the room now." A middle-aged and rude mannered nurse grumbles quickly from the doorway, while you sit up quickly and blush at what Taehyung had said.

"Yes, okay." You mutter quickly, bowing to the woman, before turning to Taehyung once more. "I'll be back later. I love you." You smile as he holds your hand with a small pout, before the woman clears her throat and he quickly let's go.

"I love you, too." He smiles, before you are forced to leave quickly, as the nurse grows more impatient.

You could not wait for Taehyung to be back to his old self again.
