꒰ ❛ ABOUT ❜ ꒱ ┊vera was born to two korean-americans, both from los angeles. her mother had wanted to move to milan after becoming a fashion designer, and that's where vera was born. vera never really got along well with her mother since she was always busy and vera was someone who enjoyed lots of affection. she went to an international school in milan since her family primarily spoke english. when she first started kindergarten, she had trouble focusing in school and couldn't sit still at all. after talking to her teacher, her parents had her tested and she was diagnosed with combined type adhd. ┊when vera was younger, she loved to just sit in her father's studio and watch him paint⎯it was some of the rare times she felt calm. he used to even let her paint along with him. her parents were constantly fighting during her childhood, however, and by the time she was 7, her parents finally got divorced. her father decided to move to seoul after that. her mother was supposed to get custody of all children, but vera threw a fit when she heard she couldn't live with her father, so they decided she would live with her father, and would visit her mother during summers. ┊when she was transferred to a korean school in second grade, she barely knew korean and was often made fun of for it. since her dad was busy with his own work to teach her, he asked their neighbor for help and their son, yoo kihyun, volunteered to help. though kihyun was a year older than her, the two eventually became best friends and are pretty much inseparable, even to this day.
