Lillian walked out of her room after getting dressed. Her stomach growled at the delicious smell of the buns. She wanted to enjoy it over coffee in the open gardens of her parent's house. She immediately went into the kitchen and smiled at Laura.
"you know what I am here for."
"Obviously I know what you are here for, you orangutan." Laura smiled at Lillian. Lillian had such a connection with Laura since she met her. They both were together at all times. Laura made her ice creams and all the delicious stuff, the reason he belly was protruding out a bit.
Lillian's POV
I pick up the plate of cinnamon buns and sit on the kitchen counter, devouring the delicious taste.
"oh Laura, these are heavenly."
"Thankyou my child. I am so glad you loved them."
As soon as I took my next bite, my little sister came into the kitchen. her eyes were focused on me for a second but soon turned to the plate which rested beside me on the counter.
"Oh my, I was just wondering what I was smelling. The whole house smell like these." My little sister exclaimed. I did not like that she picked up a bun from my plate.
"Prudence, why don't you take your own plate. These are mine."
"oh yeah, you eat these Lily. I don't want a paunch like you anyway."
"I don't have a paunch, you brat. How dare you say that." I shout at her and mom came in running.
"What is wrong with you girls? Why do you keep fighting like maniacs all day."
"Mom, it is a sister to sister thing, you stay out of it." Prudence teased our mother and I roll my eyes at her
"Prudence, how dare you talk to your mother like that." My father, who sometimes seems like my mother's lawyer, walked into the kitchen.
"Here comes your lawyer mom." Prudence said rolling her eyes at our dad who is now shooting daggers at my baby sister.
"Aren't you speaking a lot than you should?" My father questioned and I continue eating my buns.
"I am not even saying anything to her. It is between my and Lily, that is all I said. She acts like a drama queen all the time." Prudence said holding her head and I started chuckling. it was true, she was a lot more than her age.
"Will you stop eating young lady?" My mom shouted at me "Get these plated on the dining table." I make a face at her and pick up the plates from the drawer and walk out of the kitchen to the dining area.
I gently started placing them on the table along with the cutlery, keeping in mind that my mother would kill me if I drop her expensive china. I hear the doorbell ring and my heartbeat increases. I certainly did not want to see Devon.
My mom hurried to the door, opening it and greeting everybody. My dad hurried after her and motioned me to come join them. I nervously walk to the door where they were all exchanging greetings.
My eyes flicker to Devon who was already looking at me. The usual smirk still settled on his face. He winked at me and I turn to look at Mary, Devon's mom.
"Hi Mary," I hug her and she hugs me back. " It is so good to see you again Lillian, you become more prettier every time I see you."
"You are just too kind Mary. You look absolutely stunning yourself." My comment made her blush.
I hugged Jacob, Devon's dad next who was a fine man for his 45 years of age. I also shook hands with Adam, Devon's younger brother who could not keep his eyes off Prudence. And all she did was shoot daggers at him.
