"Did you hear that?" Anxiety asks. "She's going to try and get rid of us!"
Depression scoffs and rolls his eyes.
I read that is not uncommon for people, facing both depression and anxiety, to speak to someone. So I start with the school social worker. She guides me to a mental health facility, where I am assigned a psychiatrist and psychologist. My psychologist talks to me about both my anxiety and depression. She makes it much easier to deal with. Next, I speak with the psychiatrist. He diagnoses me with Severe Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I'm prescribed two medications that are meant to balance the chemicals in my brain. After a while, they begin to work and start to weaken Depression and Anxiety.
"So this is it? This is really the end..." Depression's voice trails off.
"For now but, we'll be back. She's nothing without us..."
