IS TIME TRAVEL POSSIBLE!?

CHAPTER 2 : IS TIME TRAVEL POSSIBLE!?

Time: 9:00 P.M.

“So I didn’t have the guts to go after all. Well, whatever”-Ereath thinking…

Ereath had taken out piles of books related to astronomy and esp. the ones that had information about the Earth’s revolution. He was trying to study while some thoughts crossed his mind, “Why do the Earth and other planets revolve only in own orbit? Why don't they move somewhere else? Is it gravitation that holds them firmly in their own orbit? No, the space around the planets doesn’t have gravity. Then, what phenomenon keeps them from going off to the wrong path? Why do.....” <EREATH! EREATH!!!!> He hears his mom calling and opens the door.

Aliza: Studying as usual, aren’t you? Now, leave all that and come to have your dinner.

Ereath: Alright mom, give me five more minutes. I will pack everything and come.

Aliza: Okay, better wrap it up within a minute.

Ereath: OKAY MOM!! (Giving an irritated look)

After a while, he goes to the dining table where his mom was already sitting, waiting for him.

Aliza: Finally, you got some time to have your dinner. Your life is no fun at all.

Ereath: MOM!!! STOP WHINING!!! I was trying to study.

Aliza: Yeah, yeah! That’s what you always do. Sometimes, try going out and, make friends. (Being angry)

Ereath:  MOM… Uh-hh....

Aliza: DON’T GIVE ME THAT!!! YOU ARE MY KID AND YOU WILL DO WHATEVER I TELL YOU TO DO. THERE’RE NO “NOs”. DO YOU UNDERSTAND, YOU L’IL KID?

Ereath: Y-y-yes mom. (Clumsily getting afraid of his mom’s usual angriness)

Aliza: NOW YOU WILL MAKE FRIENDS AND THEN, COME TALK TO ME!!! OR I AM GOING TO BEAT YOU OUT OF THIS HOUSE.

 Ereath: O-O-Okay, mom… calm down.. Calm down mom.. I will, I will…. (Just counterfeiting such words to calm down her)

Aliza: Okay, NOW THAT’S YOUR LAST CHANCE!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

Ereath: Okay mom, let’s eat for now. (They start eating)

After they eat, Ereath goes to his bed, thinking, “Maybe, mom was right about scolding me, I'm 18 already but I don’t even have a single good friend. I shouldn’t have avoided Lisa too; it’s always like me though. I have a presentation tomorrow so, I better sleep now.” After this, he turns off the light and goes to sleep.

NEXT DAY….

In the school…..

 Ereath was walking through the corridor bowing down his head down, trying to take faster steps, avoiding the eyes staring at him. After a moment he notices Lisa and then, immediately, he hid his face in a corner. She passed by without noticing Ereath. Then, he sighed with relief saying to himself “Thank Goodness!!! She didn’t notice. Now, I won’t have any problem as Lisa happens to be in some other section.”

Soon after that, everyone gets inside the classroom. After the teacher had arrived, the classroom became silent and then, he called out the names of the students for the presentation one by one. After five presentations, Ereath’s name was finally called out. He went in front of everyone, near the digital board and started his speech,

“Friends, we all are be familiar the name Nicolaus Copernicus. He was a great scientist, yes, great indeed, as he developed the theory of revolution of the Earth around the Sun in its own orbit. And, as the planets move around the Sun, they flow in their natural rhythm. If we’re able to understand the natural rhythm of Earth revolving around the Sun, we might be able to TRAVEL TO THE FUTURE.”

Everyone looked stunned… Ereath added on,

“You might be thinking what made me say “travel to the future?” The answer is very logical; time moves firmly with the continuous revolution of the Earth. If somehow, Earth stops moving then, It’s certain that the time too, will stop. And....” Everyone hears the sound of ringing bell and moves out of the classroom. Ereath takes appreciation from the teacher and then, he too, moves out. As a matter of surprise, as soon as he moves out, he notices Lisa staring at him.

Lisa: Hello there!!! You didn’t forget something, did you?

Ereath: Uh-hhhh…. H-Hi. (Clearly noticing the angriness of Lisa) I don’t suppose so. (Acting like nothing had happened)

Lisa: Oh! Yeah? I guess I had invited you. And it’s TOTALLY RUDE WHEN YOU DON’T COME AND ACT LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED!!! (Turning her tune more blunder with every word)

Ereath: I was busy doing some research. So, you know…… (Bowing down) I am sorry, I couldn’t come.

Lisa: Apologize properly!!!

Ereath: I am really sorry, I wanted to come but, I can’t get into parties and besides, I feel stuffy in the crowd.

Lisa: Well, I want to meet with you personally, in your house maybe? I am not letting you go without a “YES”

Ereath: No-No-No, not in my house, my mom will make a big issue of it.

Lisa: Then, how about meeting me outside on Sunday?

Ereath: Well….

After a moment’s silence

Ereath: Okay, I will try.

Lisa: It’s done then, Sunday 10 A.M. in front of the Imperia Street…. (Smiling)

Ereath: If you say so….

Saying this much, they part their ways…

Time: 7:00 PM <same day>

Ereath was trying to explore some useful books from his bookshelf. Between some books, he caught sight of a book namely “World’s biggest earthquake: In Japan.” He thoroughly starts reading the book . Ereath goes into deep a thought after reading it. Soon after a few minutes, he started laughing  with great excitement as if he had achieved his life's greatest goal……..

What had come into Ereath’s mind suddenly so that he started laughing with excitement? Was it related to his research or something else? Will he go out with Lisa? If he goes, what is going to happen? Find more about it in the next chapter.
