30 | A NEW CHAPTER

" can i leave early for today, boss? it's urgent, my dog has diarrhoea" jeongguk stood stiffly, hoping his boss would fall for it, stupid of him if he does.

" sure, take care of your dog, gyeok "

" thank you. also, it's um gguk not gyeok-- "

" whatever boy, i'm busy. go before i change my mind " his boss said, his voice was low and deep, kinda intimidating if you ask me, and gave him a hand gesture for him to leave.

he bowed before taking off his apron and rushed out of the cafe, who else would he be chasing after other than taehyung.

" tae! " he ran behind him, but stopped when the older boy turned around.

"gguk? a-aren't you supposed to be working?" taehyung asked, hearing jeongguk calling out his name was the last thing he expected.

" doesn't matter, just, do u have time? for us? " jeongguk asked while slowly taking a few steps towards him.

they looked like kids, on a swing, just the both of them at the playground. there was an awkward silence, until one of them spoke up. or two.

" so " " so " both of them uttered at the same time.

" you first " taehyung insisted.

" i'm sorry, i was too harsh on you" jeongguk said before bitting his lips, looking down, avoiding his eyes. taehyung could see how nervous he was.

" i started it first, i should be the one apologising " taehyung was also looking down, pouting. both of them were too scared to make any eye contact.

jeongguk slowly lift his head up, turned to his right and only to be met with the brown haired pouty side view, he took a deep breath and got on both of his feet.

" i'm jeongguk, i work at the cafe beside your busking area " he let out his hand for a handshake from the confused boy infront of him.

" w-what? " asked taehyung.

" let's start all over again. " to which he replied. he gave a smile, showing his bunny teeth that taehyung adores more than anything.

the older boy giggled, he's so adorable, he thought to himself before reaching his hand out to return jeongguk's handshake

" and i'm taehyung, the one who sings beside your cafe "

" wanna be friends, busker boy? asked jeongguk.

" sure, i would love to " taehyung replied, giving him a soft smile, the one that would make jeongguk's heart beat like crazy and his cheeks would turn red.

it wasn't over for them after all.
