~Richie's Point of View~

It was the last night of my vacation to the Ski Resort, which just so happened to fall on New Years Eve. The Resort had put together a party to celebrate and, being the crazy cool dude I am, you can bet your ass I was there. The party was fun, but after a little while I started to form a mild headache and decided now would be a good time for a quick smoke brake.

I looked around the crowded room for a door that lead outside, finding one only a few seconds later. After shoving through the crowd, I stepped outside and started digging through my pockets to find the Camels I always seemed to have on me, only noticing the smaller boy staring a few moments later. I pretended not to notice him, but only so I could get a good look at him.

The boy had a very small frame, and was shorter than me by quite a bit. His dark brown hair was combed and neatly parted to the side, allowing for a perfect look at his light chocolate eyes and freckled cheeks and nose. His eyes, holy shit his eyes, were SO gorgeous. I finally looked up at the smaller boy, who in turn, whipped back around. "Like what you see?" the comment seemed to slip out. I started over in his direction. "Uh s-sure." he replied, obviously flustered.

"The names Richie, Richie Tozier." Shit, what was I doing? "And who might you be, Angsty-Balcony-Boy?" I tried keeping my cool. "Eddie." He said quietly. Eddie, what a cute name. "Well then, Ed's, what brings you out here?" Eddie turned to look from the mountains to me, a slight look of irritation on his face. "It's Eddie, and I'm not to found of big crowds. What's your reason for being out here?" "I needed to clear my mind for a moment." I replied simply, pulling the box from my pocket. Maybe he'd want one? I tilted the box at him and raised my eyebrows. He waved a hand and said "No thanks." I shrugged and jammed my hand in my pocket in search of my lighter.

I pulled it out and lit up the end of the cigarette I held between my fingers, then proceeded to take a drag. After a while the silence started to become a tad uncomfortable, so I started humming, unsure of what to say to the boy standing next to me.

I looked out at the scenery for a while, enjoying the sight of the snow covered trees creeping along the sides of the nearby mountains. It was peaceful out here. Suddenly a loud "10, 9, 8.." erupted from the party. Shit, the countdown! I didn't wanna miss the balloon drop or anything so I flicked the cigarette between my fingers down to the frosty abyss below us and ran back inside. "...7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Happy New Year!" I chanted with the crowd.

The crowd started moving outside to watch the fireworks that now danced in the sky. I saw Eds still leaning over the balcony and shuffled my way over to him. I looked at him for a second before putting my hand on his shoulder. I felt him jump a little, not thinking my action would startle him. He turned around with a frightened look on his face before realizing it was me.

"Hey Eds!" I said, hopefully loud enough for him to hear, "Mind if I get your number?" Now I really hopes he could hear what i was saying. I pulled out my phone and waved it around for a moment before he snatched from me and handed me his. After we exchanged numbers, I looked up at the lights that danced up in the sky. "So," I started, "where are yo-" I looked back to where Eddie was standing moments before, only to find that he had disappeared.
