~Eddie's Point of View~

I moved around a lot as a kid, so when my mom said we were staying here for good, I was thrilled. It was an older town, fairly small and quiet, I was enjoying it so far. Today was the first day at my new school, so I decided to leave a little early. Being the "new kid" didn't really bother me anymore, it just became something that happened

I started walking in the direction of the school, feeling the cool January breeze ruffle my hair. After a little while and a few lefts and rights, I found my way to the schools front office and retrieved my schedule. I looked at it for a moment "Home room with Mrs. Wise." I quietly said to myself. I started to wander down the long, dimly-light hallways in search of my homeroom.

A medium sized boy with light brown curly hair stood at a locker, fiddling with the lock. I started over in his direction, "Hi! My name's Eddie. I'm new here, do you think you could help me find room 601?" The boy looked up," Uh, y-yeah, sure. It's down this hallway and to the right. I'm Stan, by the way." I sighed with relief, "Thanks Stan, you're a life saver!" "It's not problem, see you around then." he said as he made his way to wherever it was he needed to be.

I found my homeroom shortly, exactly where Stan had said it would be. I stood outside the door for a moment, preparing myself for whatever may happen. My breathing started to quicken as I thought of the endless things that might happen when I stepped inside. I pulled out my inhaler and quickly placed my lips on the blue plastic and pushed down on the trigger. "There's nothing to worry about." I scolded myself, "you've done this a million times now." I stood outside the door for a second longer, then walked inside the classroom.

I kept my head down and looked at my shoes as I shuffled to a desk in the back of the room. I shrugged off my backpack and sunk down into my seat. After a few more moments of slouching in the uncomfortable seat, our teacher walked in. "Good morning, students!" she said in a cheery voice. She gave us the morning announcements and started droning on about whatever auditions were going on, which I immediately tuned out. I turned to look out the window, resting my head in my hand and allowing my mind to wander. Suddenly my phone rang. I straightened up and pulled the device out of my backpack, looking at the Caller I.D. Holy shit! Could this really be happening right now?
