"Yes. Grandson." Demi's mother, Dianna, said with a smile. Clapping her hands together. Ace stayed behind Demi watching from around her arm.
One, two, three, four, four people who are doing to hate me. Ace thought to himself gripping the guitar closer to his body. As a typical teenager his age he was outgoing and gentle. But with his anxiety he didn't dare make the first move.
"Demi." Dallas eyed her younger sister as she smiled sheepishly back.
"Ace, say hi." She said gently putting a hand on his back and pushing him forward.
He waved, "H-hey." He mumbled the guitar pressed against his chest like one of them was going to take it.
Dallas have him a warm smile and bent down in her tall stature, "Hi Ace. How old are you hun?"
"13."
"Well nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too Ma'am." He paused as he looked around going wide eyes at Eddy. Be backed up a few paces.
Eddy gave him a warm smile and backed up a few himself. Showing him that he would have his distance until Ace felt comfortable.
Demi gave a sympathetic smile to her dad, and put her hand on Aces shoulder pointing to each person as she said their name, "This is Dallas, which you already know. This is my mom. This is my dad. And this is Maddy, my younger sister." Ace nodded at each of them mumbling a quick hello.
"I have food in the crock pot at home, let's get going." Dianna smiles and waved the family to follow her, "You two as well." She pointed at Max and Marissa. They nodded and followed the family as they walked to a large van. Eddy and Dianna say in the front, Max and Marissa in the middle, and Ace, Demi, and Madison in the back. Ace sat as far against the wall as he could.
His claustrophobic nature making the car seem like a 3 by 3 box, especially sharing his seat with others. Demi noticed this and frowned slightly. "Momma?" She called up to Dianna's seat.
"Yes sweetheart?"
"Can you turn on music?"
"Of course, any request?"
"Never-Shout-Never?" Ace spoke up.
"Eddy, darling can you-"
"Got it."
"Coffee and Cigarettes are my only escape.
I got my cup of Joe, my pack of stokes
And I'm on my way downtown, to
Set up shop, and sing my cares away.
So, won't you sing with me
'Cause it's cold outside, and I'm feeling kinda lonely.
Friday nights are always the same in this town.
I'm looking up, but I'm feeling kind of down.
So, I'll light this cigarette and smoke the night away
And I'll hope that Saturday will be the day
When everything feels okay."Demi didnt notice a frown on her mothers face, but looked down at Ace, who was calming down as he sang along to the song.
When the song ended, Maddy motioned for the phone, she played one of Demis songs. Her head bouncing slowly with the beat.
"You wanna play, you wanna stay, you wanna have it all
You started messing with my head until I hit a wall
Maybe I shoulda known, maybe I shoulda known
That you would walk, you would walk out the doorHey!Said we were done, you met someone and rubbed it in my face
Cut to the punch, she broke your heart, and then she ran away
I guess you shoulda known, I guess you shoulda known
That I would talk, I would talk!"
