*Dean's POV*
"Aye!" We shout, responding to our coach who is trying to raise the spirit of the team. We, the Sea Hoppers have been the champions in basketball since I was a freshman and now I am a senior high schooler and also the captain of the team. Yeah I know I sure am pretty awesome.
We walk out to the court and the cheers from the crowd becomes louder and I can already feel the adrenaline pump through my veins. I close my eyes and take in deep breaths to cool off while I think of crushing our opponents who happen to the Florida Bulls. I smile at the thought of winning all the way to the finals which is in about four months. We are currently in the quarter finals.
The match starts and I am taken over by my sharp instincts as I play at full gear. It doesn't take long before the match ends and we are the winners with a six point lead.
Now in the boy's locker room taking a shower, I remember it's my mom's birthday today and I still haven't gotten her a gift. I guess I forgot because I've been working my ass off and she's barely around anyways. Work shit and all. I decide to hurry up and stop at the mall before driving back home.
Not too long after freshening up, I get to a gift shop and after much thinking, I end up buying her a bracelet which they wrap for me. Getting home, I notice my senior brother's car in the garage meaning he came back from college for mom's birthday. He didn't come home the last Christmas break so it's been a while, I guess.
Once I'm inside, I am greeted by a sweet aroma. I think I perceive honey. I head for the kitchen to see that it's my brother who's cooking. He's always so over focused when cooking that sometimes I feel he should just open up a restaurant.
"Ed!" I exclaim sarcastically. He laughs as he gets the joke and I can tell he 'missed' me too.
"How have you been man? I heard you had a game today." He asks while trying to get the food ready. He is making honey baked chicken which is my mom's favourite food.
"Good... I've been good. And yes, I had a game today. We won so we in for the semi finals." I answer simply. I go to help him set the dishes.
"That's awesome dude." He says as he turns to focus on cooking.
"Still whoring around I guess?" He asks while laughing and I join in. I walked up to him and punch his shoulders.
"I am not a whore. I just happen to get a lot of attention from ladies and I don't keep them hanging." I say with a smirk.
He shakes his head lightly and smiles.
"So yeah. You're still a whore." He shrugs.
I finish setting the table and I head for my room but not before I say,
"Good thing I have you as my sensei."
I can hear him laughing as I walk upstairs to my room. I notice mom isn't at home so I'm guessing she's out with dad but they should be back soon. They always go out on her birthday while Ed and I cook and when they get back, we eat dinner together. I wonder if they aren't getting tired of that. I mean, it's getting fucking old.
*Sigh*
Not long after, they are home and just as I said, we eat dinner. I give her my present and she seems to love it so that's a win.
"I have to go. We're having an after party tonight. We won the quarter finals so..." I say as I leave my seat.
"Be careful son. Don't drink and drive." Dad says and I roll my eyes.
