“Okay,” Mariana took a deep breath, “you felt the need to lie to us, because you thought you would never forgive you?”

“Yea.” Callie said anticipating another blow up.

“Is it over, between you and Brandon? I am not stupid I don’t think moms are either, but I know you and B were at the school together.” Mariana asked in search to get to the bottom of this. Callie taken aback by the words because she wasn’t sure what to say because if she said it is over she couldn’t take to Brandon right away, but if she said no, there is a 95% chance she will blow up again with moms hearing this time. “You know, I am not sure. Can you give me the time it takes me to get ready, up to when timothy gets here?”

“Sure,” Mariana said with the littlest smile, she then got up of her seat walked around the table and gave Callie a hug, Callie shocked, but in love with it. Mariana whispered into Callie’s ear, “I will still love you, I am sorry for today, I was just taken back and scared moms-, never mind.”

“Don’t blame you,” Callie let out with a single laugh as she is pulling away from the hug, while rubbing her nose. They then walk through the back door and then upstairs to their room. As Callie walks towards her room, trailing Mariana, she slows down and watches Brandon’s shut door. Wasn’t sure what she was waiting for, maybe he would come out and save her?

Later Mariana went downstairs to go help moms with dinner-Callie almost forgot about Timothy. Once Callie was sure Mariana had gone all the way downstairs she fled into Brandon’s room.

“Hey.” Callie softly said.

Brandon quickly sat up from his bed, “Hey, is everything okay?”

“Umm, yeah,” as Callie puts her hands in her back pockets, “But, uhh, Mariana, she, wants an answer.”

Brandon lets out a little chuckle, “An answer? On what?”

“On us.”

“On-”

“Listen I know I was short with you earlier, and I am sorry about that. I was just anxious about all of this. You know?”

“No, no, it isn’t your fault I understand. But,”

Callie quickly interjected, “But, what?”

“But that answer.” Brandon finished.

Callie scratched her nose and then began, “Well I don’t know, I don’t think I want them-moms, Jude, and Jesus, or anyone other than Mariana to know about this just yet, so,”

Brandon finished her sentence without a doubt he would be wrong, “So, you want to pretend to break up, or-“

“Or what Brandon?” Callie asked curiously with a change in her tone.

“Or is this going to be like last time,” Brandon softly throws his book on his bed, “Callie is this going to be like last time, where, where you just leave me again, are you just going to leave me here!” Brandon said with frustration and anger in his voice.

Callie moved her head forward towards Brandon as if she needed to hear it again to understand clearly what he means, “What? Leave you? Again?” Callie takes her hands out of her back pocket and continues in anger, “what are you talking about Brandon, I, I needed a family!”

Brandon takes one shake to the head and threw his had to the wall, “and look how that turned out.”

Callie’s face just turned pale, she felt anger, betrayal, and hurt Brandon would say such a horrible thing. She stumbles back towards the wall behind her. Brandon realizing what he had just spoke and went straight to hug Callie on sorrow and regret, but she pushed him away and left the room as quick as possible. She then went through her room door and around Mariana’s bed making her way to the bathroom. She locks the doors. It only took her seconds to start crying, even in resistance. Brandon hated himself for what he had just done, his worst nightmare-hurting Callie. He storms out of his room and walks down the stairs and takes a left to arrive in the kitchen where Jude, Mariana, and mommas awaited him. With the thought of them getting in his business just made him feel worst so he grabbed his car keys and left without anytime for anyone to speak.

Brandon looks around searching, doesn’t know what he is looking for, but notices that there is 89 cents in the ashtray, half empty bottle of gator aid, a dirty padre’s hat on the dash, craft made bracelets hanging from the review and a baseball glove in the back. Brandon unsure what to do, but he drives, he keeps driving, other people would have different ways of coping, and he has got his. He is getting farther and farther away from home, every second he keeps driving. He was scared to go home, to see what awaits him, as Callie going to break up with him, with she every forgive him. Meanwhile all those thought are going through his head he turns off his phone to block out any ‘distractions’. It had seemed he had been driving for days, though it only had been minutes. He felt a wave of sleepiness washed over his face.

It was getting dark and by that time Timothy would be at the house and Callie wouldn’t have time to say anything to him; so he decided to turn around. Brandon made a U Turn were he wasn’t suppose to and didn’t see the big Whole Foods Semi Truck driving his way. He was unable to stop now he was already in motion. The Semi tried to swerve out of the way, but that just made it worse. Brandon flew out the cars front window and into a ditch along with both of the cars. Brandon had an immediate flash back to when Vico beat him up. But those thoughts just faded away-Brandon having no control over that. Brandon bones are aching, not sure if he should just give up, because the one person he wants to see hates him; at least that is what he thinks. Th ambulance is rushes, but are they too late? Brandon’s eyes slowly start to close.
