“Ha-ha, great story Timothy!” Jesus exclaimed.
“Why thank you, Jesus.” Timothy sent back.
Ring Ring Ring
“I’ll get it,” Stef said as getting up from her seat.
Jesus commented,“it is probably Brandon since he isn’t home yet.” Stef chuckles a bit before answering, “Hello?”
Callie notices Stef’s face fade pale as she walked off into the nook around the corner. Callie then excuses herself and goes to see what the phone call was about.
“Mom? What is going on?” Callie asked. Stef looked as if a bus just hit her. She then gets up slowly while placing the phone on the coffee table. Callie repeated, “Mom? What is going on!”
“It is Brandon.” Stef said anxiously. Callie face washed dark. So many things are running through her mind; is he okay, what happened, it is my fault, never should’ve let him leave. Callie took a deep breath and asked, “Is Brandon okay?”
“Umm… he is in the hospital right now, he, he umm, got into a car crash. With a semi.” Stef said with a scratch in her voice.
“I want to see him.” Callie said calmly.
“Callie, we all do. I need to tell the others.” Stef assured her.
“No! I need to see him now,” Callie retorted “I am going to go.”
“Callie?”
“What? I have a right to see my-“ Callie stopped herself, before she said anything she would regret later.
“See my what Callie!” Stef yelled.
“See my,” Callie scratches her nose, “my brother, I don’t have a right to see him?”
Stef didn’t reply, but also knew there was more to that one sentence that Callie was giving off. But Stef wasn’t in the mode to find out, especially when Brandon is in the hospital. Stef then walks into the kitchen to give the news, Callie trailing despair. Once Stef gave the news to mamma, timothy, Jude, and the twins it was quiet for one solid minute.
Mariana looked at Callie noticing her sorrow, “Well we need to go see him!” Jesus second that along with Lena and Jude. Timothy suggested he go home while you guys make sure Brandon was okay. Timothy left, with few goodbyes.
“Stef we need to call Mike let him know.” Lena stated, “I’ll do it.”
“Okay thanks love, go get your shoes on and hop in the car.” Yes mom, okay, I love was what she was hearing. Callie immediately grabs Jude and gives him a big hug, then Mariana. Jesus already escaped upstairs. Lena then called Mike, but no answer so she just left a voicemail. While Stef cleans up the table in a rapid manor. Only five minutes later the kids arrived back downstairs with sneaker and a jacket handy. Everyone got in the car. Throughout the whole drive no words were spoken. They got to the hospital before the Brandon, which worried them-but they didn’t know he got trapped in the ditch. But they were frantically running around the hospital in search of Brandon.
