Chapter Nineteen

Liam’s POV

I ran my hands through my hair nervously as I got ready for my date with Cher tonight. I wanted it to be special. We rarely had time alone together, so tonight was a blessing. I felt really bad about reading Cher’s diary, so hopefully this date would make up for that. But I wanted it to mean something more. I was really into Cher and I knew she felt the same way. I just never knew how to express my feelings for her. Most girls are satisfied if you just buy them things all the time, but Cher isn’t really like most girls, or anyone, for that matter. She’s different and crazy and that’s what I love about her.

“Liam, are you almost ready?” Louis asked me.

            “Yes, Lou,” I answered.

“Well a piece of your hair is sticking up.”

I panicked and ran to the nearest mirror. Surely enough I looked like Alfalfa. I groaned and tried to brush it down, but it came to no avail. I slicked it back and it finally worked. I let out a sigh of relief and then straightened out my plaid shirt. I grabbed my wallet and left to go pick up Cher.

“You look beautiful,” I told her.

She averted her eyes and suddenly found a piece of grass to be very interesting. I put my fingers underneath her chin and lifted her head up so she would look at me. She pouted and I kissed her gently. When I pulled away, her face was extremely red.

“Stop doing that,” She said.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Stop making me fall for you even more!” Cher argued.

I laughed and helped her into my car. I drove quickly down the road because I was anxious for our date. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of Cher, though. She really did look fantastic. She wore a beautiful purple dress. She knew my favorite color was purple.

As I pulled into the parking lot of a fancy restaurant, Cher looked at me.

“What?” I asked.

“None of this would’ve happened if I wouldn’t have written about licking your abs,” She blurted out.

I laughed loudly and her face turned red again.

I climbed out of the car and then helped Cher out. I took her by the hand and led her into the restaurant. A waiter dressed in a suit and tie sat us underneath a large, crystal chandelier. The lighting in the restaurant seemed dim but it was really beautiful. I watched as Cher examined everything with wide eyes. It was a shame that she didn’t even realize that she was the most beautiful girl in the entire world.
