Still open cases from three years ago
Half of the most wanted murders in the USA
With ties to my state
And don't the reporters sound so proud
A wall almost done
Contradictions to everything
And would you look at that
Yet another shooting
Burning buildings
Burning cities
Burning states
Burning
People
I really shouldn't have turned on the TV

I wrote this after watching the news one night. It always makes me so upset. That it's so common for all of this to be happening that no one really cares anymore.
The fact about half of the most wanted murders coming from my state? Its true. And the guy reporting on it sounded so proud too. "5/10 are from AZ. This is great!"
I just leave the room now.
It's not that I don't like being I formed, it's just that I don't want to be informed of... this.
I'd much rather spend my time daydreaming of things that could never happen.
