I take a deep look into the mirror and ponder over the question I've been asking myself for the past few minutes. Is wearing my hair in a middle part really the move?? I bring 2 parts of my hair to the front, one on the left side of my face and the other on my right. I go to push them back but hear the doorbell ring again. Turning, I grab my wallet with my card from the top of the vanity table and rush down the stairs. Once on the last step, I change my mind and quickly run my hand through my hair and let it fall how I usually wear it- off to the left side. The face that meets me behind the door is not in a pizza uniform but a lacrosse uniform. A Beacon Hills lacrosse uniform with the name McCall splayed across the back to be specific.
"You're not pizza." I say the first thing that comes to my mind. The second the words leave my mouth I realize how stupid I sound.
Scott grins as he mocks. "Last I checked I wasn't." I roll my eyes and flip him off before moving to the side and allowing him in."Shut up- no one likes a smart ass..." I hesitate for a moment. " Well unless its me". Scott just laughs and follows me into the kitchen. I hear the doorbell again and point to it.
"Let me guess. That's pizza." I ignore him and backtrack to the door. This time I am met with the smell of pepperoni and mushroom. As I look up, I notice the striking green eyes looking at me. My eyes go wide before I shout to Scott to wait a moment. I close the door behind me before hissing at Derek. "What the fuck are you doing here."
He replies with a grin and the raise of his hands. "Bringing you pizza of course." I peer over toward the car with the Domino's logo on it only to see a limp body in the driver's seat. I open my mouth but Derek beats me to it. "He's just knocked out. Don't worry, I even gave him a tip and I'll drive him back."
I hesitate for a moment before grinning. Wow what a douche. How did I get stuck with him being my douche. I take the pizza before asking him what he needed.
"You can't tell Scott or Stiles or anyone really anything. I need you to trust me. Full on CLAD Clan trust." I smile again at the name. It was what Cora, Laura, me and Derek used to call ourselves. We called ourselves CLAP once, replacing Derek with Peter when he was sick and Derek threw a temper tantrum for days before we promised that us four would always be the originals, stick together, and never be replaced. We had a whole pledge too, but I had forgotten all of it. Part of it, though, was the we could invoke a CLAD Clan trust. That meant no questions, no doubts, no resistance. You had to wholly trust the person and they were responsible for the rest of the members. The trust including doing or saying anything asked.
"Alright, take care. Can we... I don't know. Get lunch or something again?"
Derek gave me another rare smile and a promise to go out and catch up sometime soon. I walked back in to the house trying to come up with something new to tell Scott and Stiles. My stomach was already turning about having to lie to Scott, especially if he is a werewolf now. I can't imagine the confusion he will be going through. When I walk back in and place the pizzas on the counter, Scott had poured a glass of milk for himself and a glass of pineapple soda for me. There were two plates on the counter. "What took so long?"
I looked up at him. "Oh he had to go back to get the correct change and then I dropped it and- wait why isn't there a plate for Stiles." I switch the subject hoping he would be satisfied with my fib. I go to the cabinet to get another plate but Scott puts his hand on it, stopping me from opening it. I look up at his face and see the regret. I try not to show how disappointed I am but I can tell that I don't succeed. "He isn't coming is he?" Scott starts to smile before I hear a voice behind me.
"Who isn't coming?"
