Scott POV

Have you ever woke up feeling like that day was going to be a good day. You had a good sleep, you were doing good in sports, and you just found out the girl you like asked about you. It was one of those days where I woke up with a smile on my face.

I looked down to wake Alyssa up but the bad was empty. Not looking carefully at it, I figured she had gone to the bathroom. I made my way and started to knock until the door swung open. She's probably getting her spare clothes. Ignorance is bliss. Much more peaceful than the panic. After searching the whole house for her and calling her name I got worried. That's when I figured she must have gone to school early. I passed by her sleeping bag, right pass any claw marks that may have punctured it.

Alyssa POV
I woke up on a dusty floor in a dark room. "Damn Scott, you have got to clean your floor." I croak out coughing. It takes a moment for my eyes to adjust to the darkness. I blink a few times and only after a few seconds of not hearing a reply do I realise this was not Scott's house. Startled, I jump up. "No need to be afraid Alyssa. I just want to talk. You know me, don't you?" Looking around for the source of the voice I figure out I was in a burned house. A familiar burned house. "Derek" I whisper when the realisation hits me.
"Good" he says suddenly in front of me. Stumbling back, I look at him. "What am I doing here? How did you even- Scott!" "First of all" Derek growls, "Scott is alright and second no time for questions. How do you know me?" He asks his question carefully pronouncing each word.
"What happened to no time for questions?" I bravely ask not standing down. He steps closer to me until I could feel his breath on my face. Suddenly, I didn't feel as courageous but I couldn't let him know so I stand tall. "Answer the question and no one gets hurt."
"Come on dere-bear. My Grams would be disappointed in you." Please remember. Please remember. Please don't kill me. The look on Derek's face softens as he looks me over once. "Al?" His voice wavers slightly. A few tears escape my eyes as I lurch forward and give him a hug.
"She died when you were gone. I-I have the necklace still though. I almost- I almost forgot you and-and"

"Hey hey, it's okay Al, I got you" Derek comforted me and rubbed my back as I broke down for the first time in seven years in his arms. I got myself back together and offered him a weak smile.
"When did- uh- your grandmother...?" "A year after you and Laura left." I told him solemnly. If it was any one else there is a 200% chance that I would have shouted at them but this was Derek. He practically raised me and was my role model. "Speaking of, where is Laura" I ask, my curious getting the best of me. Derek's face turns dark. "Why don't you skip school for the day and we can catch up. I'll buy lunch." "Sounds good.....Dere-bear." I smile as I hear a teasing groan leave his mouth at the sound of his nickname when we were younger.

Third person POV
Lydia drags Jackson with her to where Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski were sitting. "Hello boys." She purred. "Mind telling me where Alyssa is. I need to borrow her for a moment." Her gaze shifted to the boy in a plaid shirt who was staring at her as if he couldn't believe she was talking to him. Jackson turned to his new competition. "Well?" He asked not really caring of the black-haired girls whereabouts figuring she had just left for a moment.
"I don't know." Scott stuttered out. "I thought she left early. She wasn't at my house when I woke up so I figured..." He trailed of seeing three glares at him. The puppy like boy was confused to where she could be while Stilinski was afraid of what could have happened. The redhead looked more furious about the fact that one of her few genuine friends was no where to be found. Jackson was slightly hurt and angry. "What do you mean she wasn't at your house, McCall." The lacrosse captain sneered. Scott scratched the back of his neck a bit before replying. "She stayed the night. But we didn't sleep together or anything." He quickly stammered out.
To make things worse Allison and Danny joined the conversation. "Why are we all huddled here?" The new brunette jokes. "McCall here was the last one to see Alyssa." Jackson snapped. Stiles spoke up for the first time to help out his friend. "No one has seen Alyssa all morning." he clarifies for Allison.  Hearing this Danny turns serious. " What do you mean no one has seen her?" Alyssa and Danny had been through almost everything together. From him coming out to sharing crushes to sharing clothes once which is a story for another time. Allison, although not knowing Alyssa as long, could tell the girl was kind and became worried too. Scott speaks up again. "She hates missing school. If she's missing we have to tell someone."
Danny turns on Scott. " What does Jackson mean you saw her last."
Scott's eyes dart towards Allison nervously. "She slept at my house because she fainted earlier and my mom didn't want her to stay alone." Allison nods in understanding offering a smile. "Alone?" Lydia probes. "Her parents aren't around much." Jackson absentmindedly says unaware of everyone's newfound attention on him. "And how would you know that?" Stiles inquires with a slight edge in his voice. The bell rings cutting all of them off. With one last look at each other, they all set off their different ways. The only thing all of them having in common being worry for their quirky friend.
