~Part 4~

-Malia's P.O.V-

As I lay on the road unable to move I see an car coming towards me. I try to get up, but my body is failing me, so I accepted my fate and closed my eyes waiting for the pain.

-Grayson's P.O.V-

I'm turning into this neighborhood to get to the store I'm looking for at the end of it, but then I see a girl laying on the road I almost hit her, but luckily I stopped in time. I paused for a second and was thinking why was this girl in the middle of the road? I open my car door and as I get closer to her I start to notice the blood and bruises all over her. As soon as I noticed I ran to her and flipped her over to face me. She was still conscious.

"P-Please d-don't hurt me" the girl said in a weak voice.

She looked about 13-14 years old. I felt so bad.

"I won't hurt you, but what happened? Are your parents in that house?" I pointed to the house that was directly to the left of us.

Suddenly, an older women came out of the house and yelled at me to bring the girl to her. I had assumed that the women was her mom, so as I started to pick the girl up she tugged on my jacket.

"N-No please don't take me back to her." The girl whispered.

"Did she do this to you?" I asked concerned.

The girl went silent and then I knew that this lady had done this to her. I took a moment to ask myself why would anyone want to hurt this child she looked so innocent. I began to feel anger.

"You did this to her. Why would you do such a thing?" I asked frustrated.

"Because she is a worthless rat" She hissed.

I was in disbelief I did not know what to do, but I knew I couldn't leave this innocent girl alone with this women, so picked her up and put her in the backseat of my car.

"What do you think you are doing?" The woman shouted.

" I'm taking her to the hospital. What do you think I'm doing?" I ask annoyed

"She is just trash you should just leave her in the road." She yelled.

I was disgusted and with that I had to leave before my anger gets the best of me. As I was driving I kept looking in the rear-view mirror to check in the girl. She was losing consciousness I had to hurry. I had texted Ethan what happened and he is meeting me at the hospital.

When I arrived I hurried and got her out of the car and in to the building. I shouted for help and a bunch of nurses came and took her from my arms and they told me to wait in the waiting room.

A few minutes later Ethan arrived. He was still pretty shocked at what happened.

"Is she okay?" Ethan asked.

"I don't know, but she looked pretty bad." I said as I look down at the floor.

The doctor came out and told us that she will be okay, but she wasn't awake yet and that she had a lot of injuries. He also said she was lucky I was there because she was close to dying. All I could think about is what this poor girl went through.

"What do we do E?" I asked.

"I don't know Gray, but I think we shouldn't leave her here. For now she should come home with us." Ethan said

"I agree I don't want her to go through anymore pain. And it would be safer for her to be at our house." I explained.

"What do you mean about it being safer is someone after her?" Ethan asked concerned.

"There was this women there and I'm sure she did this to her and she might come back." I explained.

Ethan nodded his head. We waited awhile and finally we could take her home. I carried her to my car and the whole car ride was quiet. She was always looking out of the window. I wanted to wait to ask her questions. When we arrived at The house she got out on her own and followed me to the door. When she went in she sat in the couch me and E look at each other then go sit next to her. She flinched as we sat down.

"It's okay we are not gonna hurt ya." Ethan said in a calm and gentle voice.

She nodded.

"Are you tired?" I asked.

She nodded. E and I exchange looks once again and we took her to the guest bedroom. As soon as she goes in the room she went to bed.

"You are safe here no one will hurt you here." I said in a reassuring tone.

She nodded.
