Romeo Must Die

Chapter 1 ♛

"Juliet! Juliet!" I turned around when I heard my best friend, Nora, calling my name.

"Good to see you too." I grinned and hugged her, she was at her grandparents' house last week, apparently her parents thought it would be a good idea to spend more time with their grandparents since school is starting and they won't have free time anymore, so it's the first time I'm seeing her for a while.

Nora started jumping, her curly hair bouncing, "Have you seen the new guy?"

"Nope, and I don't care. Come on, tell me what you did with your hottie of a brother."

She immediately scowled, "I'm against incest, Juliet, you can have him."

Nora and I are friends since the first day of our sophomore year, the year I came to the school, she was my first friend here and I'm really thankful because I'd be a loner without her. She's my partner in crime, we do everything together and she is the only one who manages to make me feel like I have a normal life.

We talked about different stuff for a few minutes until the bell rang. After that, we parted our ways and I went to class.

"Okay everyone, take a seat. I'm sure you'll find time to talk about how hot the new guy is after class." Our chemistry teacher is actually pretty nice, she doesn't get mad at silly things and she is one of the few teachers who don't make fun of us for being such teenagers.

I turned to my left and whispered at Megan, "Will you give me the notes before the end of the class?"

She rolled her eyes but nodded. Megan is one of those quiet girls who can't say no to anyone. I felt bad for asking for notes but I was really sleepy, and I probably wouldn't be able to concentrate until I got some sleep. I closed my eyes and drifted off in seconds.

"Jules. Jules. Juliet!"

"What the hell, dude?" I groaned and yawned.

"Were you seriously sleeping during Chemistry? Freaking Chemistry?" I shrugged, what can I say, I just love sleep and since I'm killing people at 4 am, it's not easy for me to sleep well. Nobody knows what I am doing in my free times though, I just couldn't walk around saying that I killed people the gang leader wanted to get money from. Nora would freak out and leave the state, hell, she would leave the country.

"Jules, you should stop sleeping in classes, what will happen when the teacher catches you?"

"She won't." She rolled her eyes at my response and we went outside together.

"So, have you talked to Nate yet?" I shook my head and opened my locker. "Coach put a surprise training to 'have a fresh start in the new school year'. He came to school early and was at training until the first class. Are we sitting with them at lunch?"

"Yeah, sure. I wanted to talk to Ryan."

"Aw, can I be the maid of honor?"

She narrowed her eyes but still giggled, "Shut up."

Realizing that it was 11:25, I quickly half-waved at her and started running towards the gym to change. "I'll see you in lunch!"

I sometimes think that it would be awesome if I had a theme song. It would definitely be "Juliet" from Lawson.
