Samuel went to the main staffroom —which consisted of ten teachers desk and was as big as three staffrooms— as soon as Ada told him about the competition. He lost the rest of his burger, but it was worth it. He just wished his stomach agreed with his reasoning.
The staffroom was full, buzzing with teachers at every corner who paid him zero attention.
'Good afternoon Ma.' Samuel bowed in front of his class teacher who sat at her desk attending to some work.
'Oh. Samuel, good afternoon.' She answered with a lively but somewhat tired tone. A part of her natural hair was visible through the front of her wig. 'What can I do for you?' She asked struggling to insert a set of paper into a huge file. Probably the biggest file he had ever seen.
'Let me help you, Ma.' Samuel immediately dropped his brown shoulder bag and helped her hold the file while she inserted numerous pieces of paper and documents inside.
'Thank you Samuel.' She adjusted her reading glasses. 'So what can I do for you?'
Samuel repeated what Adaobi told him about the national sport competition and without a heart beat, she told him that the form was handled by the school's coach.
Just then, the bell rang to signify break-over and he hurriedly thanked his class teacher, took his school bag and ran to his class. No one was to be seen in the halls once break was over.

The bell for closing hours rang and Samuel was glad he'd finally be able to get the form from "Coachie", as he was popularly called.
"Everyone is expected at the assembly grounds." A voice rang through the speakers. It was recognized as the vice principal's voice. "Everyone is expected at the assembly grounds." It announced again.
He grumbled after hearing the announcement, but at least he wasn't the only one.
He managed to get to the assembly ground and stood in the prefect's area since he was the sport prefect, but he couldn't find Adaobi. That is, until she was called to the podium.
Before the announcement by the principal was over, Samuel spotted the coach. Who could miss him?
He was 5'9, fair and fat with a pot belly almost as huge as he was.
Immediately he did, he ran up to meet him in the teacher's corner.
'Good afternoon Sir.' He bowed. 'Good afternoon Ma.'
'Ah Samuel. Give me a moment.' The coach said and continued talking with a female teacher. She was the health teacher — Ms. Tolu.
The assembly was over and Samuel was still standing under the scorching afternoon sun waiting for the coach on the assembly ground. Apparently, the coach and Ms. Tolu left mid session and went to discuss some business.
'Samuel!' The coach called out to him.
He used his hand to cover his face as he looked up towards the classroom area. He didn't see clearly, but he knew the figure by the balcony was the coach.
'Come, come!' The coach ordered him to come to his office which he gladly to accepted.
At least now, I can get that bloody form. He thought and began walking towards the senior's classroom building where the coach also had an office in.

'Samuel. Help me do this.'
'No, no. Put that one on top. Yes like that.'
'Take that one there. Yes, that one.'
Samuel had gone to the Coach's office and for the last ten minutes, he had been lifting and moving things around the office.
