Adaobi arrived at the meeting place twenty minutes ago - It was in an open bar named "Guinness". She didn't know the time exactly, but she suspected just as much.

Was he joking with me? Should I just go back home? These thoughts rang louder and louder in her head as the clocked ticked by.

'So, you really did want those credentials.' A male's voice whispered in her ear. She jumped.

'Easy now.' He touched her shoulders and sat her down. He sat at the chair next to her, smiling.

'Ordered anything?' She shaked her head signalling NO.

'Hm. Want anything?' Again, no.

He chuckled. Adaobi looked at him with a hint of curiosity. She wanted to know what was funny. But instead, he stood up and stretched his hand. 'Let's go.'

Adaobi stood up also but refused his hand. Instead, she followed him to where his car was packed. It was easily recognizable. A typical silver Sienna Jeep.

He drove down the road for a while before stopping at a closed shop. He parked his car, let Adaobi out and locked it. Before approaching the shop and opening it with a key like he owned the place. Maybe, he did own the place.

Only until she got inside the building and the lights was switched on did she realize that it was a boutique for women's clothing and accessories.

Mr. Divine went on to search the drawers for clothes appropriate for her giving commentaries like "Hm.", "No good." and "Let's see.". After ten minutes, Adaobi got two different sets of clothes.

'Wear them and let's see. You're smaller than small.'

She saw a dresser and changed her clothes there. It was a short flay gown with pleated designs on lower part of the dress.

She came out wearing the dress and flats. Mr. Divine said nothing but smirked. Then off they go. They drove the car to a hotel thirty minutes away without the usual traffic.

'Shall we?' He rested his left palm on his waist, giving way for Adaobi's arm to slip through it. She hesitated in coming out of the car and following his leads, but she eventually did.

The sight before her was that of a big luxurious hotel, she had to wonder "who was he?" and "where's this place?"

Getting a room in the hotel was as easy as 123.

'Would you like something to eat?'

'No.'

'Please, I insist.'

He called room service and went to the bathroom. A few minutes later, a knock came through the door and he came out of the bathroom with a towel round his waist and opened the door.

Adaobi wasn't focused on the door - or anything else for that matter. She wanted to get it over with.

'Put it on the table.'

The room service lady who entered the room was unknowingly Samuel's mother. She was a cleaner in the hotel but was temporarily promoted to a chambermaid due to lack of staffs.

'Should I get you anything else?'

'No, that's would be all.' Mr. Divine went to sit by Adaobi's side. From her angle, she couldn't see the lady beside Mr. Divine but somehow, she couldn't resist not knowing who that lady was.

'What are you still doing here?'

A shiver went through her spine and she excused herself from the room and decided to forget all about what happened. At least now, with the raise she got, she doesn't need to worry too much about money for the time being. She could quit her job as a cloth washer during the weekend.
