"Ron I think we got mixed packages"
Ginny held up a long dress robe Ron wore last yule ball, but this time, it looked ten times worse and more tragic. "No Ginny! There's no way I'm wearing that garbage again!" Ron pointed finger at the piece of fabric."I'm not wearing this either" she threw the dress-like robe to the floor that Molly Weasley had made. "You're a girl, you're supposed to have a dress, besides you can just go and search for another." He held his more male looking clothing in his arms, protecting them from his sister.
"They're expensive Ron" Ginny tried to explain but Ron simply nodded his head roughly. "I'll buy you one Ginny," Harry told her reassuring with a small smile.
"Oh, will you really? thank you so much, Harry!" She grinned and threw herself over Harry who almost fell backwards. Ron didn't comment about Harry buying his sister a new dress, but the idea of it gave him the creeps. "When do you want to go?" asked Harry when Ginny was jumping out of his knees. "I actually can't, but could you buy one for me? I have a lot of homework..." She looked sad but still hopeful. There was no way Harry could turn her down now.
"Y-yes sure, but I don't even know what you prefer?" he held up his arms in confusion at Ginny. "Something blue or pink." She informés him and left with books in her hands.
"I can't believe you're buying a dress for my sister" Ron laughed at Harry.
"I'm not letting you wear that," he pointed at the 'dress' on the floor "again."
"Thank you mate" Ron snickered and waved Harry goodbye, watching him disappear through the portrait.
It wasn't only Harry that was going to Hogsmeade, some Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws (including Cho) and one or three Slytherins. Well, Gryffindors too if you include Fred and George who are most likely to go to Zonko's Joke Shop.
Most of them were going to the same shop as Harry, Gladrags Wizardwear.
He entered the shop and saw students also looking for costumes and dresses to the ball, positively for Harry, he had gotten a black suit from Mrs Weasley. Which he was thankful for, because the last one he had gotten was too small for him now.
"Hi, Harry" Cho's lips curled upwards when she saw him looking at dresses. His cheeks turned red and he dropped his fingers from a purple dress he was watching. "Oh... Hi" he tried to act like nothing. "Looking for something to wear?" Cho giggled and nodded her head to the dress.
"Oh no, it's for Ginny" he fake laughed. "That's very nice of you!-" Her friends called out for her when they saw her talking to Harry. "I have to go but I'll see you?" her brows furrowed and she didn't move until her friends said 'Cho' one more time.
This was his time, he could ask her to the ball.
"Wait" he spoke out louder than he intended to when she was about to leave. She turned around and saw curiously at the boy who blushed harder than ever. "W-would you like to go to the ball with me?"
This was the second time he had asked her that.
And he wished he could take it back."I can't... I'm going with Ernie Macmillan" her voice was shaking in fear that she might have hurt Harry. But he nodded and tried to hide that he was disappointed.
"Got to go" she didn't smile this time, and she didn't look back at Harry.
He went back looking for a perfect dress for Ginny without thinking too much about Cho. He didn't want to remember what just happened, nor was he going to tell the others that he had asked her out.
"Looking for a dress, Potter?" Malfoy smirked with Crabbe and Goyle behind him. He narrowed his eyes and told him to go away but Malfoy didn't obey his request. "I don't think pink would match your skin tone" he held out a pink puffy dress and held it against Harry's body to see if it would fit. Grabbe and Goyle laughed, so did Malfoy.
"I'm looking for Ginny!" He slapped Malfoy's arm away from him. "Red with pink? Are you taking the piss?" his nose crumbled up in disgust. "Try green" he looked through some green dresses. Crabbe and Goyle weren't laughing anymore, they rather looked surprised and shocked. Their mouths were agape but it didn't seem to cross Malfoy's mind.
"Here," he gave Harry a dress that was long, with short arms and small details splattered over it making it look less casual. "It's the same green as your eyes" he looked up at Harry from the dress and Crabbe and Goyle choked on the air.
"Thanks." Harry took it and gave Malfoy a long glance before buying it.
When Harry walked out of the shop he saw Fred and George walking down the street with bags in their hands. "Ooo Harry, what you got there?" Fred took the bag out of Harry's hand and picked up the dress. He wowed it and put it over his head, "am I beautiful now George?"
George took Fred's hand and kissed it lightly, "M'lady"
"The dress is going to fit ya, Harry it matches your eyes" Fred winked and put the dress off. He took it back and put it in the bag once again before explaining it wasn't for him. "Mum seems to want us to wear dresses, she always sends Ron one. Or she thinks that he's a girl, we don't know what yet"
"He does look lovely in them doesn't he?" George joked back to his brother and they both bust out in laughter at the memory of seeing Ron in the long robe Mrs Weasley had given him. ''Absolutely''
